Recent stay in Rome

We had a lovely stay in Rome at Francesco's apartment. It was a perfect location for exploring Rome and we were able to get about really easily. The apartment was roomy and as described on the listing. Francesco was extremely helpful in advance of our trip and gave a thorough explanation of the facility on check in. Would definitely recommend and visit again if we were in the area again.

Charming insula apartment, convenient location

We loved our stay at Domus Eugenia. The apartment is conveniently located for exploring Rome: there is a bus/tram stop immediately outside the door, and the Manzoni metro station is a 5 minute walk. Plus it's just one block down from one of the best gelato shops in Rome: G. Fassi. It's also immediately next to a little café that was our morning stop for cappuccino and cornetto. We comfortably slept our family of four (two teens, 13 and 17) and were able to do some of the basics that make a long visit easier: cooked some meals in the tiny but well-supplied kitchen, washed our clothes. Do note that the apartment is on the 5th floor, but there is an elevator. The garden in the middle of the insula is absolutely charming. There are some cats and parrots (parakeets?) that my 14 year old just loved. Francesco accommodated our timing needs and met us for check-in. It was easy. We would love to stay here again when we return.

About the host

Hello my name is Francesco and I decided to launch this new adventure! I haven't so much experience but a great desire to learn.

I am computer engineer, I studied in Rome at the Augusto high school and at the Sapienza University. I live in the district for about 40 years near Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II

Why they chose this property

I think I live in a beautiful city, in a very lively and multiethnic district; I wish that tourists can visit it as if they lived at home. Everything is at hand, it is difficult to get bored.

What makes this property unique

I like the apartment because there is a large garden with tall trees unthinkable in the center of Rome in an old palace of nearly a hundred years.
The apartment is very bright and can be seen in the distance the mountains and the bell tower of the basilica of St. John Lateran
