This was probably my favorite place to stay in Boston. The room is comfortable and clean. The shared spaces are beautiful and perfect for relaxing. The only drawback we had was distance from public transportation. StreetIt'snotdefinitely a home in s Hill
I had a great stay in the Pistachio Room at the TPH property—it was exactly as described. The photos were accurate, and the room itself, painted a soothing pale green, was cozy and inviting. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shared bathroom was conveniently located just outside the door. The neighborhood felt safe, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. I appreciated having access to laundry facilities if needed, and the check-in process was super smooth and consise thanks to excellent communication with the host.Parking can be a bit tricky since it’s a residential area in the city, but there are several bus routes nearby in Oak Square at the bottom of the hill. Just be prepared for a bit of a workout—the uphill walk is steep! It's also close to the Mass Pike (I-90), which is convinient if you are driving.Overall, this was a fantastic alternative to the pricey hotels in and around the city. I'd definitely recommend it!
Comfortable and Clean room with shared living, bathroom, and kitchen. Stayed over Christmas, located a short walk to the bus stop to the train station to downtown. Saw the Lights Display and Bruins Game, love Boston! Advice: bring a pair of slippers since hosts asked for no shoes into the space.
It was wonderful! Nice, quiet, cozy & clean! Close enough to the freeway & city to get around but far enough away from the city where you get a nice, homey feel. Definitely would recommend to anyone with a spouse/significant other for a nice, relaxing getaway.
It was in a nice neighborhood with some great little restaurants within walking distance and a handy 7-11. There was a very nice little Italian restaurant called From Scratch. Great foos and service.
We had a car and could be downtown Boston in 15-20 minutes. Be warned, it has quite a few steps up to the room if you’re lugging a heavy suitcase up. The shared kitchen was very well equipped ( I loved the toaster! You’ll see if you stay there). We shared a bathroom with another room which is OK until you desperately want to use it and someone is having a shower in the middle of the night! By the way, the bathroom is very nice and modern. We both loved the shower. The bed for us wasn’t the most comfortable. We kept sinking in the middle to each other. The duvet was super heavy and thick. OK on a super cold night but it was quite warm in Boston.
The deck off of the kitchen was very nice to sit out and have a glass of wine in the evening after sightseeing which we did with some other guests.
We walked down the street in the mornings to have breakfast outside at the Glasser coffee shop. Great food and cheap.
Parking on the street is allowed. It is a non-permit parking area. We had no trouble parking our car close to the house. I’m not sure why Charles says you can park free on the square, you can park free on the street! I tried to get Charles to clarify this but did not get a clear response. I got an answer from neighbors walking their dog.
Overall a good stay.
Our host was awesome and very quick to reply to any needs/questions we had. The house was beautiful and the neighborhood very quiet. If we ever return to Boston I would be very interested in staying here again.
I am still so speechless about this house. There has been so much work and effort put into the house to make it beautiful and it has paid off. The different lights used around the house remind me of home. I’ve been away for 10 weeks and this house was the perfect way to bring me back. Everywhere is spotless and the location is perfect. The Neighborhood felt extremely safe and is only a bus ride away from the city centre. When I come back to Boston, I will be choosing this house again!
The property was very clean, comfortable, and is a historic piece of Boston! It's a great price and in a very convenient location with proximity to the bus. There were no issues with the shared bathroom or kitchen and I really enjoyed drinking my coffee on the back patio in the morning. The host is very communicative.
There are a couple flights of stairs up to the house and inside the house to get to the room, bathroom, and kitchen, so I would not recommend this room to anyone who struggles going up and down stairs.
The house and room were exactly as advertised. The neighborhood was nice. Very walkable and seemed very safe. Sharing the bathroom was not an issue. We didn't spend much time at the house but the kitchen, common areas, and patios all seemed nice from what I saw.
My partner and I had a great stay! The house was super cute and lots of nice little touches such as the lights, the back deck, etc. Charles was very communicative when I had a question and super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again : )
This B&B is in a lovely neighborhood and easily accessible to public transportation. The host was very responsive and helpful and everything was clean and quiet. We had a great stay!
This was a good fit for us because we were in town for 3 days and needed easy access to the Fenway part of town. It was an easy 10 minute drive. Parking on the street at the residence was easy. The room was clean and comfortable and sharing the bathroom was not an issue.
My sister and stayed here and found it a sweet stay, the bedroom had soft comfy sheets and the mattress was incredibly perfect that the both of us fell right to sleep.
The neighbor hood had amazingly helpful people who guided us to Salam while walking their dog.
I’m glad we stayed here, it only increased the Salem Halloween experience. It made us feel apart of the community. Thank you for this treasured memory.
Wonderful three story home set in the hills of Boston suburb with great updates to the bathrooms and kitchen.
A quaint second floor balcony with table and chairs surrounded by the tree tops and a wonderful back yard below.
Charming, friendly and cozy!
The entire experience was very good. Charlie, the house manager, was incredibly helpful anytime we needed advice or had a problem. I didn't like the street congestion (i.e. - two way traffic on essentially "one car width" streets), but we were told by a very nice gentleman during our travels that that simply means "Welcome to Boston." The litmus test is always - would we stay there again? The answer is a resounding yes! Dave and Flo
Charles was very responsive to emails. House lovely. Street parking a bit difficult depending on when you arrive. Detailed instructions on how to get to your room very nice and well written. A few nice restaurants within walking distance at oak square. Felt very safe walking in the area. Had a great night sleep in a comfortable bed.
