About the host
Hosted by Lorna Leslie
My partner and I work in the film/TV industry, originally from the San Francisco/Bay Area. We now go between New Mexico and Los Angeles. We love animals, the outdoors and good food. We also really enjoy exploring New Mexico's eclectic and adventurous art and food scene. The best parts of hosting are the guests, especially the four legged ones, and hunting for fun local treasures to share.
Why they chose this property
The Turquoise Cat is located in the historic Nob Hill area of Albuquerque. This neighborhood is part of the College View Addition and showcases a variety of regionally inspired houses popular during WWII. The Nob Hill area was added to the National Register of Historic Properties in 2001 as a well preserved example of the early automobile suburbs. The neighborhood is popular with dog walkers, joggers and even parasailing skateboarders - safe and family friendly.
The Nob Hill area is next to University of New Mexico including Central Avenue. Alongside the charming historic neighborhoods, tree-lined streets, and lush parks are the fun shops and delicious eateries on Central Avenue.

What makes this property unique
Guests can enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful bells ringing throughout the day from the historic Catholic Church down the street. Relax on the porch swing and enjoy historic Nob Hill while watching the pink sunset glow on the Sandia Mountains that gives it its name (watermelon). Enjoy a walk to one of the local coffee shops and you will pass several “little libraries”, meet a couple folks, and spot a roadrunner.
