About this property
200-Acre Mountain Retreat w/ House, Cottage & Pool
A historic property with timeless elegance, Sylvan Ridge Farm is nestled into a wooded mountainside with panoramic views of the Delaware River Valley. The fully renovated farmhouse and cottage date to the mid-1800s. Guests enjoy total solitude on the secluded 193 acres, yet the farm is only 10 minutes away from Interstate 84, historic Milford, PA, and Port Jervis, NY, with easy access from New York City via train, bus, or car.
The farmhouse has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 4 stone fireplaces, a fully equipped kitchen, numerous common spaces (one of which converts to an accessible 5th bedroom), and a wraparound porch. All bedrooms have high-end mattresses & linens, individually controllable heat & A/C units, and blackout curtains. Nearly every room in the house enjoys panoramic mountain & forest views. The cottage has a loft suite situated up a spiral staircase, 1.5 bathrooms, a kitchenette, a living room with an electric fireplace and a sofa bed, and a small patio. Immediately outside these lodgings lie the 20,000 gallon in-ground pool (open May-September; unheated), 6-person hot tub (open year-round), and fire ring, each overlooking the view of the Delaware River Valley and Kittatinny Mountains beyond. Surrounding the homestead are spacious lawns and 193 acres of privately owned, forested mountainside. Guests enjoy exclusive access to this pristine woodland, complete with three marked trails of varying difficulty that beckon to nature lovers of all kinds!
A NOTE ABOUT WEDDINGS: Sylvan Ridge Farm operates as a wedding venue spring through fall, so our availability for other rentals is very limited during these months. Please note we do NOT take wedding bookings through VRBO.
Our property is totally secluded, without a neighbor in sight, and our guests can hide away from the world to their hearts' content. Should you wish to venture out, however, the surrounding area has much to offer in terms of both culture and nature. Closest to home, the 3,000-acre Stairway Wild Area is just a few minutes up the road and includes a nice network of marked trails and a pristine, fishable lake. Sylvan Ridge Farm lies between Milford, PA and Port Jervis, NY, each a 10-minute drive away with restaurants, cafés, breweries, and boutique shops to explore. Milford borders the north end of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, a 70,000-acre protected area that contains 40 miles of the Delaware River, nine impressive waterfalls, and roughly 150 miles of trails maintained by the National Park Service. For its part, the Port Jervis Watershed is a first-class mountain biking locale with 50 miles of trails. LEGOLAND NY is only 25 minutes away, and is just one of many nearby attractions for families. As longtime locals, owners Alec and Linnea Geno will happily share their recommendations and help you plan any outings.

The house and property are beautiful (even in the dead of winter), and the host was very easy to communicate with. A great place to gather with family and friends!
