We came for our son’s Navy graduation. After a very long drive, we arrived at a very peaceful abode. The check in process was effortless. David was incredibly communicative and patient with any questions and queries. Small touches were added to make us feel welcome and special for my son’s arrival. I loved reading the unique messages left for us each morning on the hallway notice board. Would highly recommend this host and apartment. If we are in the area again, we would book here again
We enjoy David and Marisol's hospitality! The place was warm and cozy. It was perfect for our stay to see our son graduate from bootcamp bootcamp. I recommend this place.
Host was very responsive with great communication. Location for Navy graduation was very convenient and good Mexican food restaurant around the corner! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks David and Team
This adorable apartment was perfect for our stay to attend our daughter’s Navy graduation. Proximity to graduation was great, and the apartment is clean, cute, and very well appointed. The beds are comfortable (not too hard, not too soft) and we really wanted my daughter to have her own space and bedroom so she could rest as much or as little as she wanted. Communication with David was absolutely impeccable, professional, clear, and prompt. We really appreciate the attention to detail given to the unit and to our stay. A sign in the entryway with a different sweet personalized message each day and decorations for graduation was such a nice touch that my daughter really loved as well. Absolutely would recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay for this very special moment!
We had a great 4-day stay here, highly recommended. Host answered questions quickly and was always kind but never bothered us with anything. Cleanliness was very, very good and amenities were very good, had everything you might need. The stay was in December during the cold and was nice and warm. It snowed one day and the snow was cleared around my vehicle by the time I went outside and noticed! Close to the Naval base (which was the reason for the trip) as well as other parts of town , like the Casino. Even had a book with menus from local restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!
We recently stayed at this 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment in Waukegan while attending our son’s graduation from Great Lakes Naval Recruit Training, and overall had a very positive experience. The apartment is older, but it was very clean and well cared for, which we really appreciated. The bathroom has been nicely updated, giving it a more modern feel, although the shower water pressure was a bit on the low side. What truly stood out was the hostess’s thoughtfulness. She went above and beyond with little touches—providing amenities like toothbrushes and toothpaste, decorating the apartment for our son’s graduation, and even leaving kind messages on a whiteboard that changed each day. Those personal details made our stay feel special and memorable. The only downside was the bed placement. The beds were pushed up against the wall, which made it difficult for the person sleeping on that side to get in and out. A small adjustment—like moving the nightstand and allowing space on both sides—would make a big difference in comfort.Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this apartment to others visiting the area, especially for families attending graduation events at Great Lakes which was just a 15 minute drive away.
The host’s were so thoughtful leaving daily messages on a white board in the hall.Had congratulations banners up for my Navy graduate. The apartment was very clean. It had all the necessary amenities. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. Very close to the naval base, the Metra, and grocery stores. The water and good restaurants were close by, as well. Such a great stay.
My son and I stayed while attending my grandson's Navy graduation. Just a few miles away from base. Everything was clean and as advertised. Area felt safe.
Everything was well kept but it kind of felt like we didn’t have much privacy. Daily messages were written right outside or door everyday and we opened a window because the apartment was too warm at a certain point and we immediately received a message not to leave the window open with the heat on at the same time. Overall all a nice stay but felt like eyes were closely on us the whole time.

Michael, it was a pleasure having you at one of our properties. We apologize that you felt that eyes were on you, that is not our intention, the guests privacy is one of the most important things to us.
About the daily messages, they are only daily quotes from famous poets for encouragement, not intended to bother or offend anyone.
About the open window, the guests in the apartment has full control of the heating and cooling in the apartment. As you can imagine Chicago weather is unpredictable and so are the heating costs so when I saw the window open, I respectfully asked if you would please close it if the heat was on.
Once again, thank you for your stay!
Nice place centralized to getting around Waukegan. Had a good experience, safe neighborhood. Didn’t feel hassled by the owner or the neighbors.
One suggestion. Mark the steps at the landing and the subsequent steps with an aluminum stair strip. Because the sensored light doesn’t come on in the daytime it is hard to differentiate the end of the steps.
Other than that. It was great.
Despite the water pressure in the bathroom area being extremely low, Unable to obtain a nice comfortable shower. The property owner did come to check on it however was unable to resolve it. Showering was not pleasant. Overall it was a good stay Communication was pleasant and prompt. Enjoyed reading the notes every morning that was left, leaving and coming near the stair entrance .

Daniella, thank you for staying at one of our properties and for sharing your feedback. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the water pressure not meeting your expectations. Upon inspection, I found the pressure to be functional, though I understand it wasn’t ideal for your preferences.
As we discussed, I offered to address the issue during your stay but explained that resolving it would require extensive plumbing work. This would have left you without water for an extended period, which I wanted to avoid during your short stay. To minimize disruption, I preferred to schedule the repair once the property was vacant.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and I’m committed to resolving this for future guests. Thank you again for your understanding, and I hope we can welcome you back under improved circumstances.
David and his support staff were phenomenal. The apartment was incredible, very clean, water left in each bedroom towels on the bed. Anything that you could think of that was needed was available he even took the garbage out for us.
Every suggestion David gave us from them grocery store to the pubs were spot on we had the BEST stay ever. We made many new friends. The greatest part was being able to see are son graduate navy boot camp. David’s inspirational message every morning were always something to look forward to. David really made it special for us.
David and his support staff attention to detail the best enough said.
Thank you for making it so memorable.
It was a lovely Midwest home. I loved driving through the neighborhood on our way to our nephew’s graduation from Navy Boot Camp. The Christmas lights everywhere were fun. The hosts had easy to understand instructions for the lock and WiFi. The apartment was clean and tidy and beds were comfortable. The kitchen was not as modern as I would like. All in all it was a great experience.
This property was amazing!!! Everything offer was provided. The host even helped me load my car. Inspirational quotes every day when I came downstairs were amazing. I love the personal touch. I would definitely recommend this property and host for long or short stays.
Thank you David and your team, your guys are definitely 5 stars!!!!
Thank you Gail
This apartment was beautiful, simple to get to and had a very nice property manager. He was very easy to communicated with. Would recommend to anyone.

We are a family of five, my wife, three adult sons and myself, but only my wife and I live in the downstairs apartment which sometimes is also on the Vrbo platform when we're traveling. My wife and I love jogging/walking and I enjoy fishing in Lake Michigan and in other smaller lakes in the IL/WI area (I can provide information on that if you're interested in fishing) we both also enjoy other outdoor activities.
Why they chose this property
I purchased this property 26 years ago. As a child my school bus route was around this area and I always liked the quiet neighborhood and I said to myself I would own a house in this neighborhood someday and so years later I bought this house.
What makes this property unique
What caught my attention about this house was the proximity and convenience of the hospital, the elementary school and the shopping just blocks away from the house also having a gas station very close was a plus for me
