About this property

This Country Cottage is situated in a quiet and beautiful wooded area southeast of downtown Kansas City. It is on one level, has key-less access and private parking. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sofa sleeper in the living area to comfortably sleep 6. Guests will enjoy a full, well-equipped kitchen, laundry room, and outdoor living space. With an open layout it has a spacious and welcoming feel. The large master bedroom has a king-size bed, 2 closets, and master bath with a shower and jetted tub, as well as 2 sinks. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, a desk and closet, and access to the second bathroom, which has a shower. There is also access to the second bathroom from the hall. Both bathrooms are large and have large counters and mirrors and lots of storage.

The Cottage is separated from the residence of the owners by a 3-car garage. There are no additional homes on the property.

Lovely Country Cottage!

Perfect spot for our family get together! Cottage was spacious, well taken care of, and had everything we needed. And while we didn't get a chance to meet our hosts while we were there, they were very good at giving us helpful information about the property beforehand. Thanks for the cookie bars and for sharing your property with us this weekend! 😊

2nd visit here even better than 1st

We love the Property. Perfect for small family gatherings like our Thanksgiving Dinner with the kids. The house always feels like home when we walk in the door. The hosts are lovely and will go above and beyond to make the stay perfect. This year, on the day of our departure, we had a couple of inches of snow on the ground, and I found the host had scrapped the gravel road on the hillside by hand to make it safer, as well as the front stoop then continued to brush our vehicle off from the snow on the windows.

A little slice of comfort

This home is exactly as promised! It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. It truly felt more like being home than in a vacation rental. The house is nestled in an area surrounded by trees and is very quiet. We could see the stars at night without the intrusion of city lights and saw deer on the property every evening when we came home. The owners have taken the vacation rental experience to a new high and we appreciate their kindness. We would absolutely return if we were in the Kansas City area again. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home!

Family Weekend

My husband and I stayed at the Country Cottage with our daughter and her family for the weekend. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Everything was super clean and well stocked with whatever you could need. Very quiet and peaceful location. We enjoyed our stay. The Goodmans, the owners were very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend!!

We have lived on this property (50 acres) for 39 years. There are two homes here, connected by a 3-car garage. We raised 5 children here and still love living in the country even though we have been empty-nesters for several years. The Cottage portion was home for Gordon's parents for many years. We decided it would make a perfect vacation rental because of the privacy and beauty of the home and property.

Why they chose this property

This Country Cottage is a lovely and comfortable home with all the comforts you may want as you relax and unwind. The setting is beautiful and very private. We are out in the country, but not too far out! Grocery stores, shopping, movie theaters, and restaurants are within a short drive.

Please note that we have a strict no smoking policy, inside and out. Thank you!

We recognize that some guests travel with a service animal. Unfortunately I am allergic to cats and to dogs that are not hypoallergenic. Please keep this in mind as you decide where to book. Again, thank you!

What makes this property unique

Here you will find a beautiful setting and view. The home is comfortable, inviting and very livable. It is furnished in eclectic farmhouse style. Some things are new, new-to-us, old and very old. It all comes together in a wonderfully cozy way. The wrap-around porch offers peaceful outdoor space. It features a porch swing, sitting area with wicker furniture and an area off the kitchen/dining area for outdoor dining or playing games.

The home cannot be seen from the road and has a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. Part of the driveway is a hill which may seem a little intimidating the first time. Just get some momentum and keep coming! Stay to the left as the drive curves to the right at the top of the hill. You will then see This Country Cottage! For easy access, the keypad will be programmed with the last four digits of the telephone number you provided when booking.

Please let us know if you will be arriving after dark and we will leave the porch lights on.
