Oswego Lake Country Club's 9th Fairway
An ADU for 31+ days - "The Bentley"
Overlooking the greens of the Oswego Lake Country Club this executive suite is in a private peaceful setting in one of the most exclusive and desirable locations in Lake Oswego. An ideal, yet short distance from the sound of boats on the lake and the whistle of the train that runs along Oswego Lake's North Shore makes this a most ideal, quiet and serene place to stay. Enjoy secure off-street parking, easy access to the transportation center, and a 25 minute drive to Portland International Airport.
This home's Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) provides clean, upscale, safe and secure interim housing for those who are between homes due to a household move, a home flood or fire, a remodel, or a job relocation to the Portland Metro Area. For those living in the desert in the winter, there is nothing like Oregon in the summertime. The City of Lake Oswego is located mid-point from Mt. Hood and the Oregon Coast.
A walkable country mile along the lake makes it very convenient to shop, dine or visit the seasonal Saturday Market in downtown Lake Oswego. This location is 1.25 miles to Lakewood Center for the Arts, which has a regional theatre and 2-stage venue for plays & musicals, with an upscale thrift shop, and local art gallery. Lakewood Center is host to the Lake Oswego Festival of The Arts, a significant and noteworthy Art Festival in Mid-June. The City of Lake Oswego has the official City of Arts designation.
Two entrances to the ADU are on the lower ground level of a private 2007 custom-built European inspired Old Oswego style home on 5/8 acre. Just outside your door, at the end of the street, is the entrance to the 54 acre Iron Mountain Trail - a 3/4 mile walk through the majestic old grown woods, once a rail line for mining iron ore. Along the Willamette River and less than 2 miles from this home are the remnants of the iron smelter at Foothills Park, and the refurnished furnace at George Rogers Park, a symbol of the City of Lake Oswego. The City of Lake Oswego has the official designation as a City of Trees.
This suite is not a studio as it has a fully-equipped eat-in kitchen and stacked Blomberg washer & dryer, full bath, generous cedar lined closet, and a wine cellar which provides space for storage. Included are a ladies desk & Herman Miller desk chair, a comfortable chaise sofa and 52" Smart TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. The large suite has a ceiling drapery room divider to easily separate the sleeping area from the living space if desired. A queen bed with a gel foam topper & featherbed have guests raving about its comfort. Clean mattress & pillow protectors are over spotless bedding, and white towels are provided for the discerning guest.
This custom home has a dedicated and monitored burglar/fire alarm, zoned HVAC, and a fire/sprinkler system. No smoking is allowed in or on the premises. The grounds are meticulously maintained by the owner and a regulation bocce ball court is outside your door for your enjoyment. Access to this unit is from the gravel driveway, down a pea gravel pathway with an iron handrail, to the lower level of this large home (there are no stairs). Your host lives on site, and is congenial while making your privacy a priority, and is well-traveled and experienced in residential and commercial real estate. Also living on-site is an Estate Caretaker.
Due to the local regulations on Short Term Stays in SDU/ADU's, this property is available only for 31 days or longer. On short term stays of less than 31 days, the City of Lake Oswego will assess a $20,000 System Development Charge, plus 6% hotel tax. This unit is often booked every month of the year and does not have frequent turn-over. It is non-smoking, clean, pristine and is not "shop worn"; it has been priced in a "sweet spot" making it very affordable for those needing interim housing.

Thank you Liz! When your mother first walked in through the door, she was amazed at how much larger the ADU was than she had imagined. And, the next day she commented on how comfortable the bed is. My standards are high, and I provide the level of accommodations that I would want to stay in!
Great location next to the Lake Oswego Golf Club. Can walk to town pretty quickly, about a mile and a half. Lots of room and very nicely decorated. Barbara is very responsive and very respectful of your privacy. Couldn't have been a nicer or kinder host.
Great value for what you get!!!

Thank you Yvonne! I like to follow Mr. Roger's 3 rules for ultimate success. The first is BE KIND, the second is BE KIND, the third is BE KIND. I have enjoyed having you here!
This property was as advertised; clean, quiet, comfortable. The location was excellent for me...walking distance to downtown Lake Oswego and easy access to main arterials. The host was respectful of my privacy yet very helpful and communicative via text messages. The wifi, television and cell services were all very good. I highly reccomend 'The Bentley'.
We had an amazing time! Barbara the owner was asking if we needed anything! Garner was always helping helping my husband who had a knee replacement. The location was perfect, easy to get groceries and visit downtown Lake Oswego.
Whenever we need to go back to Lake Oswego we will always stay there. Loved seeing the deer coming through the backyard too!

Thank you, Barbara & Joseph! You were delightful to have as our guests and we loved having you feel like you were right at home - and you were for the duration of your stay at "The Bentley".
Wonderful stay. Barbara is incredibly thoughtful and kind. She made my stay amazing. Only thing I struggled with was cell phone service was limited in the unit. With calls didn’t always work so had a difficult time with any outgoing/incoming calls. As soon as I walked outside service was fine. I would still recommend staying here!

Wifi is included; perhaps this guest did not have her cell connected to it. After this review I checked AT&T, Verison & TMobile. There were no problems with the cell service using wifi.
My spouse was recovering from a kidney transplant at OHSU and couldn’t have had a more serene and peaceful environment.
The property was ground level with convenient parking and access to the iron mountain trail.
Shopping was nearby and Portland was a 10-15 minute drive

Thank you Betty and Ted for your review last year. It was so nice for you to stop by to say hello a year later, when you were in town for a night to attend a follow-up medical appointment. I am not providing housing solely to have a money maker, this is a place where you can come and feel the kind of friendship that says if you need something, I am here for you. Thank you again for staying, and for stopping by.
We stayed here long-term during our home remodel and couldn't ask for a better place. The apartment and yard are lovely and even includes deer who come visit. There are walking paths and downtown LO close by. Barbara is a wonderful host. Highly recommend.

Why they chose this property
This property is meticulously maintained by the owner and an Estate Caretaker who both live on-site. This executive suite has a separate entry and is both uncluttered and white-glove clean, with attention to detail clearly as a must for the owner. The neighborhood and street are very walkable; it is a very short distance to a walking trail, the lake, and the centrally located between Lake Oswego's Lake Grove and the City of Lake Oswego's Village. It is on the North side of the lake, which gives it better driving access to the City of Portland, hospitals & medical facilities, shopping, the zoo, and the Oregon Coast.
What makes this property unique
This property is Upscale, Quiet, Private and Peaceful, and larger than it appears. A bocce ball court is available for the guest's enjoyment. A historic walking trail through a 54 acre nature park entry is less than 1000 feet. Oswego Lake Country Club fairways are across the street. Oswego Lake's north shore is a 3 block walk. This property has understated elegance and is the perfect spot for the discerning traveler.
