Phantastic place in croatia
Our Holiday in Pitve was one of our most kindest and impressiv stay that we ever had. Susan and Andy were wonderful hosts. The house is situeted in a wonderful old village which has preserved his original character. A dreamlike beach is reachable around ten minutes by car. So we must recommand this house for everyone who is considering to rent it.

Loved it!
We had a great time in the Architects House - a beautifully restored cottage in the middle of this lovely quiet village, with a good restaurant a short walk away. Nikol checked us in and was very friendly & helpful, as are all the locals. Great location to explore the whole island and all it's beautiful little coves, towns & villages, restaurants, coast and countryside.
We can certainly recommend it and hope to return again!

Quaint rooms in a small village
Hvar Island is a great place to sample the slow pace of Mediterranean life. The apartment is based just above Jelsa Port, an easy 30 minute walk but be cautious of traffic. The house is newly renovated and quite cozy. Andy and Susan, your hosts, are very helpful with recommendations regarding the island. There is one local restaurant in the village that must be tried, too.

Hidden jem!
We had a great holiday in this lovely quiet village and beautifully restored little house. The owners, Andy & Susan, were very helpful and provided everything we needed. It's an ideal base to explore the countryside, coves, villages and towns - then come back and chillax. The local restaurant is excellent and friendly. We'd recommend it and hope to be going back sometime soon.

Exquisite Croatian Holiday
Fabulous Croatian holiday in The Architect's House. Offers modern conveniences with old world charm. Breathtaking views of lavender fields. The village is quaint with friendly residents and konobas. Hosts, Susan & Andy are kind and knowledgeable about the area.

Tastefully renovated and well-equipped stone house
This property lived up to all expectations and we would happily recommend it to friends and family. The property is situated in a delightful village and is well equipped and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the outdoor dining and sitting space and the quiet atmosphere. The owners provided good service and information about activities and restaurants in the area and the property is beautifully presented with an eye for detail.

A Perfect Setting for a Relaxing Holiday
The Architect's House lives up to its name-designed to take advantage of a superb location with views of the countryside and the pristine waters of the Adriatic. I enjoyed the location in the small village of Pitve where I could wander the narrow pedestrian only streets and be greeted by friendly locals. There is a fine restaurant where one can enjoy local cuisine in a friendly ambiance where a visitor can feel right at home. There are some wonderful walks outside the village where the views of the island of Hvar are spectacular and on a gentle summer breeze one could detect the ever present scent of lavender.
After a day of exploring the Architect's House welcomes you relax and refresh with all the comforts of home. My favorite is sitting on the patio and enjoying a light meal under the warm summer sun. The interior of the house is spacious and comfortably furnished and the stone walls add the feeling of coziness.
I had a great time during my one week visit and after traveling Europe for a month my time here left me reinvigorated for the rest of my trip.

About the host
Hosted by ANDREW HILTON
Although we originally hail from the USA and the UK, we have spent our lives living abroad and travelling throughout the world. With such a hectic lifestyle, we try to escape to the island of Hvar as often as possible, where we totally relax and enjoy the beautiful and healthy surroundings!
Why they chose this property
We love places with a sense of history, authenticity, beauty and charm. Pitve, a medieval village with cobblestone streets, has all of this, and we think that we have found a unique gem. We greatly enjoyed renovating The Architect's House to a high standard, maintaining its structural and rustic character, but at the same time ensuring a high quality to the interior design, importing fixtures and furniture from various parts of Europe. We also love the fact that it is very cosmopolitan - of course, there are many local Croatians live in the village, who wholeheartedly welcome owners and visitors from all over the world - but also, it is very inclusive, with no one group of foreign nationals predominating. We also love the friendliness in the village - which is one reason so many guests return again and again - they, like us, really enjoy the welcome!
What makes this property unique
The Architect's House is close to the sea and wonderful seaside villages and beaches - all offering so much to do and see. However, the special benefit of Pitve is that, at the end of a day at the beach or in town, you can escape the crowds to the most special and charming hideaway. Pitve has no commercial enterprises - except for one highly-acclaimed restaurant - a real bonus to be able to enjoy a wonderful meal without having to get into a car! Additionally, The Architect’s House is located in a pedestrian cul-de-sac , which makes it very private. It is such a treat to return from a day’s nearby excursion and have the choice of strolling to a family-run restaurant/taverna, or just stay home and have a quiet evening dining in your very own stone courtyard (P.S. – Ivica, the owner of the Dvor Dubokovic restaurant in Pitve, has been known to be very graciously accommodating if asked to prepare one of his superb meals for you to take back and enjoy a romantic dinner in the privacy of The Architect’s House)!
