About this property

4 bedroom holiday home south of Carcassonne great for families and friends

Welcome to our 4 bedroom French country home on a peaceful, pretty little village square south of Carcassonne. Parquet floors, old fireplaces, shuttered windows, exposed stone walls and huge beams, all the character you would expect from an 18th century French country property.
There are 4 spacious first floor bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 twin room with fabulous views of the square and church, and 1 double room at the back of the house, converted from the old barn and with an en-suite shower room. There is a dressing room and large family bathroom on this floor with roll top bath, separate shower and dual sinks, “the bathroom was bigger than our apartment in Rome.” A cot can fit into any of the bedrooms.
The large salon has comfy seating and stacks of books and games. It leads onto a well equipped galley style kitchen with double oven and dish washer. This space continues into the part of the house converted from the old barns, the dining room and covered porch with exposed stone walls, and the large, private roof terrace. Always a private space to be found to enjoy a glass of wine and a book. Also off the salon is another shower room with a washing machine and separate loo.
Enjoy dinner on the candlelit terrace to the sound of cowbells, or on the square in the shadow of the lovely old church - and know this is why you came to this beautiful, unspoilt corner of southern France.
Prices are fully inclusive of all taxes and utilities, linens and towels. There is lots of free parking in the village close to the house. All bookings include store cupboard essentials, bathroom products and a very nice bottle of local wine.

The perfect getaway!
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful gite. The communication with the owners was timely, informative and super helpful. We felt like we already knew the area before we arrived. The location was perfect for us - long lunches in the square in the sunshine, easy drive to local markets and medieval towns. As we are walkers, there were many trails and local walks to choose from, not to mention beautiful walks in the mountains close by. But there is also cycling and horseriding nearby. The Gite was spotlessly clean when we arrived and everything was working and easy to use/manage. Coming back from a long day to a warm (it was winter after all) house and comfortable living space, it made our stay there all the more pleasant. We will be recommending the gite to our friends as it's so spacious and clean. The area is beautiful and peaceful, a true get-away for unwinding and being in nature.

Friendly escape in the south of France
We would highly recommend a stay at Chez Maison Bleue. Carolyn and Nick were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was light and comfortable and the breakfasts were suitably French and tasty! The area is pretty and well situated for visiting nearby towns and places of interest. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

*****FANTASTIC*****
On my return from my first visit in August 2014, I wrote down the following:- My Husband and I have just had a truly wonderful 12 night stay at Chez Maison Bleue. Carolyn and Nick's hospitality was second to none. We were absolutely spoiled rotten during our stay. We have never ever been so well looked after in our 40 years of travelling. The accommodation, the ambience and the location are superb. Nick's cooking is to die for! Nick said to us one evening that they would like to think that their visitors arrived as 'guests' and left as 'friends', well all I can is that they must have 'bucket-loads' of friends! On my return from my second visit to Chez Maison Bleue in May 2015, all I could add to my previous review, was "DITTO". We are thinking that visit Number Three might be on the cards for 2016! So, everybody, go on, give Chez Maison Bleue a try, you will NOT be disappointed!

Fantastic holiday in france
Beautiful renovated chateau ,spotlessly clean and well maintained. Owners Nick and Carolyn were very attentive. Plenty of very good eating places nearby but you were spoilt by nicks five star cooking so we're very happy eating in. We found the people in the small village very friendly.overall we had an excellent holiday, can't wait to go back again .
