UPDATE: We now offer an amazing outdoor shower overlooking our ponds as well as a private seating area with a chiminea and bbq!!!
Newly remodeled studio cabin that was originally a 1900's Lineman's Shed from the Willapa Harbor branch line of the Northern Pacific railroad company that ran from Chehalis, WA to South Bend, WA. That line has now been converted to a 56 mile long biking, hiking and equestrian trail that follows the beautiful Chehalis River. The working Willaway Forest and Farm is 87 acres, and with a direct private access road leading to the trail, the property would be a great stay over or starting point for a beautiful few days of bicycling or hiking this part of the Chehalis River Basin. The Lineman's Studio Cabin has a plush queen bed, 1/2 bath and full refrigerator and sink with basic utensils as well as an electric skillet , microwave and coffee maker. Electric heat is available as well as a beautiful woodstove. A large sliding window in the sitting area offers a beautiful view of the ponds where you may be lucky enough to see one of our frequent flying visitors such as Canadian geese or blue heron. Willaway is a largely wooded area with a few clearings where you will see blacktail deer, eagles and barn owls near daily. The Lineman's Studio sits next to a few small ponds that hold catfish and blue gill and some very soothing sounding bullfrogs. A network of trails throughout the property give you ample opportunities to see wildlife and forage off of the land. Yes please help yourself to some of those quarter sized blackberries, pick a few of the young Douglas fir tips in the spring to nibble on as you walk or try a few different salal berries. Don't forget to look down as you peruse the trails or play in the river as Adna area is famous for it's beautiful deep red to bright orange carnelian agates! For winter stays bring your fishing pole and try for the elusive winter steelhead or acrobatic silver salmon. And come warmer weather bring your favorite flotation device and spend the day soaking up the all important Vitamin D on the river! Located on property we are available when needed but allow you all the privacy you require. We are located about 15 minutes from the town of Adna which is the closest small grocery and are about 20 minutes from I-5 and the city of Chehalis.

Hosts we're amazing, property was so beautiful, would definitely recommend
Such a gem! Me and my partner had such a relaxing and peaceful stay here. Lots of thoughtful touches inside and out. Good directions, easy to check-in, clean, very private, and communication with Lorie was great. We'll definitely be back, we were so impressed how hot the outdoor shower was with such good water pressure!!
We had a great quiet weekend exploring local state land and retreating to our cozy cabin. Highly recommend for great hosts and a great location for adventures!
Just a little getaway slice of heaven! You will love it here from the sound of the bullfrogs in the pond, to the extremely comfortable bed! It had everything we needed to feel like we were in another world.
Cozy place to hide away. The rain shower was an absolute treat- even in cooler weather. We really enjoyed only hearing insects and quiet at night :) Host was the perfect amount of attentive.
We had so much fun staying at the cabin! We were lucky enough to experience a thunder storm while we were there. All the sounds were so amazing. Lorie and her husband are so easy to get along with and helpful if issues arise! 2nd time staying and will definitely be back.
Thank you so much for the comfortable place to stay. It was great to be out in the woods for a bit on a cute little property. Great access to the Willapa Trail. And, really friendly hosts. Thanks again!
This was our third time coming to visit the cabin. As always we loved it, and plan to come back (: The chairs in the living room were updated and so comfortable! My husband and I loved having a fire outside to sit around outside while we bbq’d dinner, then heading inside when it got chilly so we could have a fire in there too! And I cannot get enough of the outdoor shower! If only there were a hot tub or soaking tub
We had a wonderfull stay. We played on the river during the day and enjoyed a few movies in the Cabin after hours. There is a white noise device so you can go to sleep to the sound of rain and thunder 😉
We over all enjoyed our stay absolutely loved this property! Lorie was very communicative and was very helpful. We absolutely enjoyed camping, the outdoor shower, the fire pit and looking out all the stars! It was an absolutely beautiful property and we would definitely returm 😊return in the future

Very cozy, on lovely walkable property. The walking/biking path was great for a run or stroll. Easy access to riverbank. Hosts were attentive and eager to please. We'll return!

Enjoyed our stay very much. Hosts are wonderful.
Only complaint is..if you park in front of Cabin you will have red sap from the tree above all over your vehicle..pull further forward to avoid this. Car wash does take care of the mess.

Omgosh I can't say enough about this place! When you come up to it it's a little rustic on the outside which is absolutely cute. Once you open the door it is so Charming inside! And the outdoor shower, that is the best rain head shower I've ever had! It puts out so much pressure, and they have a tankless water heater so you can stand there as long as you want. I would absolutely recommend this place!
Enjoyed our weekend getaway at this clean and tidy cabin with a lovely view of the pond. Made good use of the hand-drawn map of trails around the property and enjoyed a comfy bed to sleep in at the end of the day. Quiet and secluded. Would love to return in the fall and use the wood burning stove. Thank you!
A historic Lineman's cabin. Unique stay in Chehalis
One of a kind cabin with everything you need. Be prepared to completely disconnect. First, the property is vast! Acres to explore. The property borders Willipa Hills trail and the Chehalis. After a day of adventure, unwind by the fire, take a hot shower outdoors under the stars!Great hosts and a wonderful experience. We will be back!
We loved how quiet it was the entire time. We work 50 he weeks so being able to come out here and just shut everything off was absolutely perfect. I had never used an outside shower before so this was my first time and I loved it. We got to escape for about 3 days and I couldn’t of asked for a better place to escape too!
Wonderful spot to stay. I didnt get to enjoy all the beautiful trails available on the property during my short stay. My main goal was seieng Mount Rainier. Everything else was booked within 2 hours of Rainier but Lori's little spot still worked out! The cabin was squeaky clean, the bed was ultra comfortable and there was just enough kitchen appliances for my simple needs. Unfortunately on my first evening a neighbor was doing target shooting practice excessively for multiple hours which scared me away from exploring the land much. Driveway was pretty rocky and I was nervous my little Prius wouldn't make it back up. It just barely did, but I blame my older tires! Overall, excellent experience and I'm so grateful for Lori's hospitality. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I loved the beauty of the trees and seclusion. It was very clean and comfortable. The outside shower was very nice with the robes to walk out in. Downside was that the entrance door was not at all secure and it could be pushed opened because it did not latch at all. That really surprised me that the only securement was the inside chain. Then the odor coming from the bathroom drain was terrible when I was brushing my teeth.

About the host
Hosted by Lorie Wadsworth
Willaway Forest and Farm was our dream property when we purchased in late 2018 and we are so excited to share it. The property sits along the Willapa Hills State Park Trail which is 56 miles long extending from Chehalis, WA to South Bend, WA near the coastline. We also are fortunate to have about 1 mile of river front along the Chehalis River. Perfect for summer swimming or winter boating for fishing. Our 87 acres where owned only by one other family prior to our purchase and was homesteaded by the previous owners grandfather. The Lineman's Cabin was a temporary housing for the family of 4 as they rebuilt after a fire claimed their original wood cabin home. It was brought up by skids from along the old railway that ran along the property and placed where it stands today. Surrounded by Douglas Fir and big leaf Maple the property is secluded and quiet. The nights sky is bright with stars during the summer and a light coat of winter frost or snow transforms the landscape into a picture postcard.
