Okay. Overpriced.
Place is run down and could do with a decent clean. Bra from previous stayers left in bedroom and place pretty dusty. Cove across the road is not suitable for swimming for kids which is what we were under the r impression of. Kina needles everywhere and very rocky. Lots of lovely beaches to explore within the area but you have to go everywhere by car. Coopers and Cable Bay a good 20 minute walk. House is smaller than expected with all rooms off the living area on the same level. Expensive for what it is. View is nice. Stunning area, beautiful beaches and friendly locals but wouldn’t stay here again for this price. We didn’t end up bringing our dog but was nice to have the option

Overpriced and run down.
This place is a prime example of maximising profit with the least amount of effort. Dirty windows. Broken stairs. Light bulbs missing. Lights not working. Low bandwidth internet. Two different versions house rules on site. Plenty of dust under beds, door frames, picture frames etc. Sticky extraction hood. I could go on. The only good thing was the view. Not worth the money I am sorry to say.

Lacking slightly
We did have a lovely stay in this beautiful location, though little things were lacking. As we pulled up to see the unmown lawn, we went in to discover for a family of four (no this place is in no way fenced- if you have young children) - no tea towels for drying dishes, one flannel, one hand towel, and you guessed it and no council approved rubbish bag (you must drive to take all rubbish to the local refuse station). The coffee and tea (no milk) were open and dried up (the coffee) packs on the top shelf. It was the little things that sort of took the shine off this place and it’s stunning view.

Great Kiwi bach in the north.
Great spot, quite setting with a good view. Bach nice and clean with a big deck and plenty of lawn to enjoy. Good off Street parking, we would highly recommend.

Great stay at Dolphin Bay
We had 3 nights at Dolphin Bay in late January-early February. The location is great, quiet at the end of a no exit with access to a rocky beach just down the road. The view is amazing. The accommodation was good, practical, just right, fair. Cleanliness was good overall. The amenities were just right and practical. Good bedding, enough extra blankets, bathroom is functional, laundry is handy too. The host had very good communication and was very accommodating to requests. Some things to consider that may require some maintenance/attention and would improve the experience: - there are some nails sticking out on the deck to watch out for, a quick hammering would solve the problem - the dining table is very wobbly and would need some tightening - kitchen: - there was no cooking oil or condiments left for cooking - there was no aluminium foil or glad wrap provided - there was a small amount of paper towels left - there was no tools/ustensils to clean the barbeque with - it would be more practical having a double plug to be able to plug in the microwave, the fridge and the toaster - there was 2 rolls of toilet paper provided which may not be sufficient for up to 7 people - the drying line may need some attention as the concrete block is loose in the ground and makes the line leaning on one side. - unless we could not see it, there was no DVD player, just a freeview box under the TV - if water conservation is a concern, a recommendation could be to add a dishwasher in the kitchen and a more water efficient washing machine Overall, we would recommend to anyone wanting some peace and proximity to several beautiful locations, whether in small numbers or with the family and kids. We hope this helps.
