It isn't the Ritz but extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped so easy o cook your own meals. We had an issue with the shower but the Manager was on hand to assist.
We enjoyed staying in this lovely spot surrounded by bush and birds. It was a short stroll down to the well maintained gardens and picnic area by the river. Our hosts were delightful.
An older style of accommodation but the setting is sublime. A wander along the road and down to the river I encountered a chicken eating grapes, a clutch of Californian Quail, saw numerous native birds and passed the cluster of bee hives. For relaxation in a beautiful setting with honest and welcoming hosts this is the spot.

The accommodation was fabulous.
The accommodation was fabulous. The canin/unit was most well presented. The beds very comfortable. We were nestled in a bush clad sheltered Valley and were totally unaware of the storm that blew through that night! I slept soundly for 12 hours ! There was a nice swimming hole and stream and kayaks could be used. We were very surprised how much water was in the stream Sunday morning. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it highly

About 25 mins drive up north from Thames.
About 25 mins drive up north from Thames. Into the Te Mata valley, down a 4WD track, you are totally away from civilisation. Run by a nice family. No real neighbours. Peacefull location. Nice lodge with space for living, dining. not much food options around, so get stocked and they have cooking facility and bbq on sit. River flows next to property. They have kayaks to use. No cell coverage and wifi signal limited. So if you want to relax and not get disturbed, get lost to this place. Good walkin
