Heritage Cottage on the Foreshore
This is a delightful old cottage which oozes authentic heritage, a time capsule as it isn't renovated. However the bathroom and kitchen and laundry are somewhat modernised and are perfectly functional and very well equipped. The charm of the cottage is that many of the original features are still in place so for anyone old enough to remember cottages of mid last century it is a walk back in time, enhanced by the old photos, some from earlier last century. I was pleased that despite its age there is no mustiness and everything was extremely clean. It is only a 10 minute walk to the main wharf and its nearby cafes and shops and it is even closer to the Lighthouse, the Garden of Tane, the historic and beautiful cemeteries and the Britomart Monument. Best of all it is right on the water with only the very quiet Beach Road in front so you have an unobstructed outlook from Glen Bay.
