About this property

Stay steps from Salamanca in historical cottage

Summary:
Central 2 bedroom semi-detached period cottage just steps from Hobart’s Salamanca Place and vibrant restaurant and cultural scene. Fully renovated, stay in the heart of the historical Battery Point precinct, with easy walking distance to cafés, Hobart waterfront and CBD.

Beautifully re-imagined, the historical cottage is suited for a couple’s getaway or group of friends, complete with outdoor courtyard and BBQ for alfresco entertaining.

The Space:
This charming 2-bedroom semi-detached cottage is ideally located just steps from Hobart’s Salamanca Place, offering easy access to vibrant dining and cultural hotspots. Recently renovated, it blends modern comfort with historical charm, perfect for a couple’s getaway or a fun trip with friends. Enjoy a relaxing outdoor courtyard with a BBQ, ideal for alfresco dining, all within walking distance of cafés, the waterfront, and the CBD.

Guest Access:
Guests have full access and private use of the entire property during their stay.

The Neighborhood:
Battery Point is arguably Hobart's most sought-after suburb filled with heritage-listed properties lining the streets and quant laneways. Discover the neighbourhood on foot, by starting your morning with a coffee and pastry from Jackson & McRoss Bakery.

There are endless restaurants, bars, art galleries and a range of stores in Salamanca Place. Don’t miss Salamanca Market every Saturday morning for fresh Tasmanian produce and handmade goods.

Take a 5 minute walk to Hobart Waterfront, adjacent to Salamanca for more top class restaurants, events and the launching point for ferries and tours to a range of destinations including MONA, Bruny Island, Tasman Peninsula.

Getting Around:
Use the well connected Metro Tasmania bus services to get you around town. Neuron and Beam Scooters are available to rent via apps, as well as Taxis and Uber, or you can rent your own car.
Hobart airport is just 20 minute drive, and the MONA ferry terminal is a 10 minute walk.

Other Things to Note:
Please note this is a historical cottage with a steep staircase to the dormer bedroom upstairs. There is also a bedroom on the entry level if this is an issue, however if you require both rooms, please consider if the stairs are an issue as we do not want to be reviewed poorly for this in hindsight.

Interaction with Guests:
Please note I will not be available in person during your stay. I have a management team in place to assist guests with any questions or issues which may arise during their stay.

Please note that when booking and paying by card, a small fee will appear on your statement as a “ReslyPay” charge. This fee is set by the booking platform and is not controlled by us. Thank you for your understanding.

Great location in a quiet quaint neighborhood close to downtown Hobert. Excellent coffee shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. On street parking can be slightly hard to find in the evening and there are restrictions during the day.First floor bed was comfortable, kitchen and bathroom were both spacious and clean. Not a lot of room in first floor bedroom to unpack clothes as bedroom was relatively small although there was an armoire in the bedroom that we could use for some items. We used the dining room for additional storage. Laundry is a combination washer/dryer unit. We had some trouble figuring how to use the unit. Ultimately we used a clothes drying rack that was in the unit. As it was just my wife and me staying, we didn't use the upstairs bedroom which is up a steep flight of stairs. Only issue is that the couch had noticeable staining on the cushions. We reported it to the property manager. Hopefully it will be cleaned in the near future.
