You can be active diving for paua or crayfish, or relax on the beach while you wait for a fish to hook up. The Mataikona coast is full of opportunities for those who simply enjoy walking and fossicking. Suitable for all year round, you can sit in the sun and watch the hypnotic surf from the deck with a nice, refreshing drink or stay inside playing darts and keeping warm by the woodburner. Head down the road to the Whakataki pub or the golf course, or visit the spectacular cliffs and views at Castlepoint.
Special conditions:
Smoking allowed outside only. Please note the bach is on tank water so conserving water is appreciated.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys

On arrival turn on the main power switch (meter outside back door). Take away your rubbish. There is no rubbish collection. Water is from a rainwater tank so please be mindful about water usage.

Wood for the wood burner is down the side of the house in the wood shed (not under the tree out the back, this isn't dry yet).Please only use driftwood from the beach on the outdoor pizza oven.

Please leave the bach as you wish to find it. Turn off the main power. Do not leave any food or drink etc. in the fridge or freezer. Lock up when you leave (ranch slider, back door, gate).

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
