The village of Glenorchy is located at the head of Lake Wakatipu, just a 40-45 minute drive from Queenstown, along one of New Zealand's most scenic roads.
On the edge of Mt Aspiring National Park, Glenorchy is the ideal base for outdoor enthusiasts. Take advantage of the numerous day walks on offer, catering to all fitness levels. Visit Paradise and enjoy the stunning scenery, and the setting for movies such as The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
Activities include jet boating, kayaking, horse riding, guided walks and much more.

Perfect cottage stay

We stayed 9 nights here as a fam of 4 and loved it. Very cosy, comfortable, well equipt and everything felt clean and fresh nice linen etc, bed was good. Great base for many walks and adventures. Would stay again.

Perfect for our family, compact cabin with everything we needed (except a dryer for washing). Loads of lovely touches like the heater on when we arrived. Highly recommend.

Overall we had a good stay however the property layout is a little pokey & floors creak a lot (difficult to move around with our toddler sleeping).

Awesome location, partially fenced and dog-friendly. House had everything we needed, and host was excellent with communication. Clean, easy and comfortable with enough room to park a boat and Ute. We would stay again!

Had 10 wonderful days stay here. The cottage was quiet, comfortable, clean and had all the amenities required. I used it as a base to explore Queenstown and surrounds. Highly recommended for individuals, couples or families. Glenorchy is a small village in a very picturesque location..

Terrific little cottage with plenty of privacy and a lovely Mountain View. Fresh flowers and chocolates welcomed us and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location is wonderful with trees giving the porch plenty of privacy but not blocking the view and just a quick walk to the cafes and lake. We really appreciated the heater in the bathroom to dry our clothes on a rainy day! We would stay here again if we’re ever lucky enough to return to Glenorchy.

Postcard perfect location

We enjoyed thoroughly every bit of our weeklong stay. cottage is very well maintained and cozy except internet reception was not good. but thanks to kind host who reimbursed for internet expense. I personally don't mind if internet is not very good but being with teenage boys that's a must. overall facilities are excellent in cottage. ideal location with walking distance to nearby amenities.

Lovely stay in a great location

We had a lovely stay at New Glenorchy Cottage. The property was very clean and tidy, and although quite compact we still felt there was plenty room for four adults and had no issues with space at all. It was very well laid out. The location was handy for walking into the village, and Christine was a helpful and responsive host.

Wonderful serene comfort.

This lovely 4 berth accomodation was perfect for our needs during our sons wedding. Lots of wardrobe space for hanging suits and dresses. Great bathroom set up with wonderful shower and amenities. Particularly love the big size white fluffy towels. Every thing one cud wish for in the kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher an added bonus. Comfy lounge chairs, great deck area and stunning birdsong continuously.

Great Place to Stay

Overall it was a pleasant stay with great accommodations as depicted online by the property owner. However it was a tad bit noisy at some points as construction was happening nearby but that didn’t greatly impact our stay as it quieted down in the evenings. Thanks for your hospitality!
