About this property

Timber Trail Accommodation, nice modern house

Set on farm land over looking the river. lovely quiet location. 40 minutes from Te kuiti and Taumaranui and an hour to Tongariro National Park Village.
The house is 20 minutes drive from Piropiro (the middle of the timber trail)
This beautiful house has a lovely deck to enjoy the summer evenings.
There is a historic mill just 5 min walk away.
The ongarue river runs the length of the farm so there is plenty of trout fishing available. we do promote catch and release so every one can enjoy them. Also a swimming hole at the bottom of section perfect for hot summer days.
About an hours drive to Waitomo caves.

There is no wifi.

Please Note: the Garage is only suitable for summer sleeping. it will be far to cold during winter months

This section is not fenced off from the river.
and there is a steep bank below the deck.
children would need to be well supervised

Communication with our host prior to our stay was excellent and check in very straight forward. Our group consisted of 3 couples and 1 single and the house worked perfectly for us.The large and well equipped kitchen was particularly helpful and everyone really valued the beautiful surroundings. Lovely home in beautiful surroundings

We loved our stay here. Hesta was just amazing and so lovely. The home is perfect and has everything you need. The wood fire of an evening was cosy and a treat for the little ones. We even had mobile reception.

A tremendous stay in a beautiful home…

This is a great place to stay - it surpasses the pictures in the advertisement. Host was friendly and a clear communicator. We had a lovely relaxing week here, with family joining us. Beautiful sunsets and evening meals on the deck. So close the Timber Trail - one of NZ’s great rides and a must see/do experience. The sound of the river chuckling and gurgling at the bottom of the property was a delightful accompaniment to the sounds of the native birds in the garden.

A lovely "cottage" in a great location.

This is a wonderful place in an attractive location, handy for us with our interest in the area. The only negative aspect is not having gas in the gas bottle for the barbeque, especially when you've planned on using it for several meals. Getting a refill isn't easy in this area!

Uninterrupted, Beautiful and Bountiful Property

It is a Beautiful house with Amazing views and very useful decking all around. Private access to the river which runs by the property. This property has an exclusive view to star gazing right on its property. We haven’t seen this kind of Milky Way before. Kids were thrilled to see so many stars. Property is secluded in the mountains, very private, uninterrupted views right from the Lounge and Main bedroom. Immaculate Kitchen and Lounge. Three Toilets and two showers makes it so convenient with bigger group like us. Dish Washer, Washing Machine and dryer came in very handy. Good quality sheets and Bedding. Overall would rate 10/10 and planning to visit again. Generous, Friendly and Kind Hosts, who go an extra mile to help.

Something to consider.

We absolutely aroha this property so much that my friends are going to re-book. What I did consider though is, we paid a fee to clean, but guest still had to strip their beds and take their rubbish. That seems extremely high on top of nightly fee.
