This house is downstairs on the friendly owners’ farm. It has lovely views from the living room and master bedroom, lots of beds, good bathroom facilities and a good kitchen. Worked really well for an overnight stay as a family of five whilst travelling the Cape.
We absolutely loved our stay we felt welcomed by our friendly and helpful hosts "homely vibes"what a special place you both have we look forward to coming back ..take care🙂
Stan was welcoming when we arrived. It's a great spot however there were a few let downs. The place wasn't clean throughout and we are not fussy as we live off grid however we expected it to be at least vacuumed. There was female hair on the pillows and dead insects and cobwebs all over the accommodation. Also the showers were cold as the gas hadn't been turned on. A lady came on dark to tell us the gas had been turned on after we showered. So it was nice to have a hot shower in the morning. We did really enjoy our stay though, some amazing views, private and an amazing birdsong at dawn. If it wasn't for the above it would have been 5 stars for sure.

Short stay on the East Cape
Great location to explore the east cape.
Shame that the property is a bit tired and that we had to spend the first evening cleaning the place. Food waste container on the worktop was dirty and full of ants which were also all over the sink area.

Property is one of two self contained units attached to a rural property. There are no nearby retail options so you do need to be relatively self contained - there are nearby beach and historic tumbledown buildings and wharf to explore as well as other sightseeing options within easy driving distance - a great place for a few days away from it all and to chill or to explore - getting there is a significant drive, as there are only two access directions via either Whakatane or Gisborne, but in this reviewers opinion, well worth the effort - accommodation was fully equipped for cooking although we had evening meals both nights at the local pub in the bay - good menu choices, simple and well prepared
The apartment at Macrocapa Heights is an ideal location for a holiday break. Stan and Terresa are brilliant hosts, and they were able to give me details of the local history of the Bay together with places to visit in the immediate area. The accommodate is very comfortable and spacious and has all of the essential amenities for a relaxing break. The apartment overlooks Tokomaru Bay and has stunning view from the garden area. I would recommend Macrocapa Heights to anyone wishing to have a holiday break in an area and wants to enjoy the true scenery of the East Coast.
