This home has a great central location and is only 10 minutes to Gore, 2 hours to Queenstown and Dunedin and 50 minutes to Invercargill.

The property has been recently renovated with our guests comforts in mind. The section is fully fenced and offers ample off street parking.

There are 4 bedrooms that sleep 6 people, there is also a double sofa bed and a single fold out bed that we can prepare if you have up to 9 guests.

Close to the Mataura river and other great brown trout fishing spots.

Within walking distance to shops and the river. Mataura has 2 cafes, 2 convenience stores, doctor, chemist, petrol station, takeaways, swimming pool and a great pub.

Peaceful and relaxing stay

Beautiful spacious home, in a peaceful location right across the road from the river. The house has everything you need, is warm and has a lovely relaxing feel. Was perfect for what we needed, and close to Gore. Will stay here again.

Hidden Art Deco Gem

We purchased River Retreat in 2015 and after renovating we decided it would be nice to turn it into accomodation. We live next door with our 2 fur babies and have enjoyed meeting our guests from all around the world.
