Beautiful Villa, with sweeping views of Oamaru and the Ocean. Wonderful location to enjoy Victorian Historic Precinct, that offers Cafe's, Steampunk shops, working Artists, Antiques, Whisky bar, Art Galleries, Steampunk Museum that includes fire breathing steam train, Scotts Brewery where beer is made on the premises. Penguin Colony viewing platform, a very cool Steampunk cafe on the harbour to enjoy lunch, and for the children a great playground. No matter if you are coming for the Steam Punk Ball or the Victorian Fete, or just want to get away for a few days, William Gillies Villa is a fabulous place to stay.

Lovely villa
This lovely villa is a perfect place to stay while exploring Oamaru. Its warm and cosy and has everything you need. Walking distance to town and the views from the house are soo nice! the sunrises during our stay were incredible! Highly recomended.

A gorgeous house with fabulous views. Our 3 teenage children loved the character and personal touches (the great book cases) - we all wanted to stay longer.

Exceptional views & peace
Despite a major issue with getting access to the property - we would still recommend this beautiful character property as a peaceful relaxing oasis in Oamaru. The kitchen was a highlight bursting with all the equipment we could want and the character decor a delight. The sleeping arrangements weren’t quite as described with one bed being a single which we squeezed our 6ft 2 son into.

Cosy cottage with amazing views
We loved staying at this lovely old house. The house is full of character and it felt like a home from home to us. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch on a morning starting the day with a nice cup of coffee, admiring the views. We would definitely love to stay here again if we had the opportunity.

Perfect home away from home
This is a lovely, open house with lots of beautiful touches. The kitchen has everything you need and the furnishings are comfortable and attractive. Everything feels loved and chosen with care, but relaxed as well. The rooms are generous and the windows are large, with great outlooks to the garden or over the sea. The bookshelf is well-stocked, always the sign of a good home. Thank you for sharing your lovely spot.

Loved the spaciousness of the house. Very warm and comfortable.
Great seaside location. Lovely home and peaceful views. Loved the spot for viewing Boulders at Moeraki Beach. Everything was comfortable and we enjoyed playing the old record albums on the turntable! Blue penguin viewing was a real treat.

Wonderful home away from home.
Wonderful home away from home. House was toasty warm and had everything we needed for our stay. Our bed was really comfortable and the shower has great pressure and instant hot water. Great views of sea and over town.
There is a bit of a hill but it's not far. There are also steps up to the house from the road.
