It was fine. I would suggest checking the hot water for the bathrooms on the second and third floor. There was no hot water in any of them. The kitchen needs some more serving bowls and a couple of cookie sheets.
Excellent for our family vacation. Having a bathroom for each bedroom & the extra dining seating was perfect for our large group. Easy access to the lake & fishing piers too.

We loved the huge rustic ranch house! Our family reunion was easy and stress free in the beautiful surroundings. The rooms each with a bathroom was a plus and Trampas, the property manager was always available for every question. Our family is already planning for next year!
Peninsula Ranch was the perfect for our family gathering. The lodge is spacious and each bedroom has an en suite bath. Beautiful location on the lake with boating, fishing, swimming, and plenty of space for games. Excellent communication from reservations with Angela to the owner Stacey periodically checking in to make sure everything was perfect. We will be back!

Beautiful rustic setting. We loved that there was a bathroom in every room, that’s a luxury. Host was attentive to our questions. If I were to give something constructive for them to work on it would be the wasp issue along the back porch area, I so wanted to hang out there in the evenings or mornings but there was just so many nests and wasps:(.
We rented a boat at the nearby marina and it was just a short ride by water to pick up and drop off the kids at this houses’ north cove, the kids had a blast.
Overall, we had a wonderful time creating sweet memories with family. I would definitely recommend and I would love to return someday.

Lodge accommodated our large family. We were able to all be together under one roof. For that, I am thankful. However, the kitchen was a challenge. For this size lodge, the kitchen is very small and lacking. There was no place to set out food to serve. Minimum counter space for work space. No dishwasher. Online description says it is a commercial kitchen...only the sink area could be considered commercial. Also, hot water heaters were not adequate for even one shower, much less multiple showers. Our host was very accommodating and easy to work with. I appreciated Trampas!
Week stay for extended family of 20 people ranging from 2 to 64. Separate rooms with bathrooms and individual A/C for all family groups was awesome. Multiple living/seating areas.
We rented a pontoon boat for the week which was kept on property. Fished. Swam. Played indoor and outdoor games. Brought pool for toddlers. A few brought bikes and took daily bike rides on property. It was HOT - July trip - but the water activities helped. We brought our own fryer and had a fish fry with fish we caught - yum. Grilled burgers and hot dogs for the Fourth of July. Sat each evening and watched the sunset. Clay skeet shooting
Stacey & Trampus - owners - were awesome and responded quickly to any requests or needs.
Cons. This property is by water and open fields, so there are spiders and other bugs around. You could take down a spider web outside a door and it was there again the next morning. Tons of spiders under the covered parking. Suggest you unload vehicle there but park out in the open. The kitchen is not well equipped. Bring what you need. The photos show two stoves/ovens - only one. The water is well water and was fine to cook with but plan on bringing water to drink and for coffee. You cannot control how well water tastes so out of owners control.
Pros: Separate bedrooms, bathrooms, A/C, lots of things to do, plenty of space. Great hosts.
Tips: Bring cooking utensils/supplies, lawnchairs, floats for lake swimming area.
Our families plan to return and look forward to it!

Hello Sherry, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are aware of the spiders that come along with the lake. We are working on additional measures to remedy at least some of it. We enjoyed having you and your family and look forward to having you back in the future. Again, thank you for your business and I hope you have a blessed week.
Sincerely,
The staff at Peninsula Ranch
Great High school retreat for our football seniors and coaches
Besides the other things we mentioned we had a player coaches fish fry the first night after a day of fishing. We had everything we needed for a wonderful experience. Thank you Stacey for allowing us to stay at your property and make a memory for our players and coaches.
We had family gather from KC, Vegas, Austin and the DFW area to celebrate Ally’s 5th birthday. Everyone had a great time as we brought our boat, went swimming and fishing. Stacy and his crew were gracious hosts and we feel blessed they share this beautiful property. You don’t see everyday Zebras , bobcats and plenty of deer in Gods beautiful setting.
The facility is large and can house a large family. Bathrooms were clean and bedroom linens good but living areas barely acceptable-cobwebs under furniture, all around windows with dead bugs. Kitchen deplorable and dirty with no clean useable cooking utensils, though there were clean dishes and cups. Outside spaces were covered with webs and mud dabber nests and windows filthy.. When we said something owner had outside cleaned. Owner was a really nice guy and cooked a really nice dinner for us. lots of large dogs roaming outside. I think they need help in what is expected when you rent a property. Hot tub is advertised, but there is none. I think potential here. BUT,,,
Everything was perfect:) My comments to make it even better is: Add some kitchen forks, plates, ... Also upgrade the internet to make it fast and stable. Overall was very good.
We held a family reunion for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. This ranch lodge housed all the children and their spouses, and 14 grandchildren comfortably, about 20 people overall. It was cozy enough for personal conversation and large enough for all to have their own space. The property managers were so easy to communicate with and very accommodating. The third floor was enjoyed by the older grandchildren, while adults and under 6 kids took the first and second floors. The fishing was excellent, the donkeys would take carrots from your hands, the zebras were aloof but content to stand nearby, and the bobcats were amazing to see so close up. We also saw deer running through the property and the owners dogs had just had puppies so the kids were loving them as well. We had an escorted outing to see a few of the oldest Pecan trees in Texas located right on the property. This reunion will be one of the families most memorable trips and we couldn't have asked for much more. One side note is the kitchen has all the basics you need for simple meals, but if you want to get fancy be sure and bring your own specialty pan, cookware, or utensil. There is also a Wal-mart very close to the ranch's entrance to pickup any items you need. We had no problems with finding items that we ran out of, or forgot to pack. Can't wait for our next visit to the Ranch!
Owner was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The property was lovely, the house was spacious - plenty of room for our family gathering. Enjoyed skeet shooting and the fire pit at night. We're a pretty low keyed group. A couple of things that could be improved: 1) A thorough cleaning of baseboards and under furniture - lots of cobwebs and dead bugs, 2) old food/drinks removed from refrigerator/freezer, 3) found cooking implements with old dried food on them, 4) kitchen lacking in basic needs - had to purchase several items including a colander to drain spaghetti, a large enough pot to boil spaghetti and a large bowl to mix a salad, 5) towels were older and some were threadbare, 6) patio and outdoor furniture had a lot of cobwebs - a quick rinse with a hose would have made it much more inviting. Those are small items that would have made our stay even better but overall enjoyed the property.

Thanks for the feedback Donna. We will make extra sure that those things are not an issue in the future. We had a new cleaning lady before your stay and I should have done a better check-over. Hope to see y'all again!

Perfect setting for our extended family getaway
We had a great time and the owners were very hospitable! We were provided farm fresh eggs (we went and thanked the chickens directly) and ripe tomatoes from the garden. The kids enjoyed the two fishing piers and caught bass and catfish. The resident animals were all friendly and we enjoyed their company. We used the fire pit to roast marshmallows and took in the cool evening breeze. The staff were very attentive to our needs and we left feeling very relaxed.

Great Experience
We were a group of about 30 and enjoyed our stay at Peninsula Ranch. There was so much room and so many different activities and games. There is a Walmart within 15 min drive. Owners were super nice. Only complaint is the tap water tasted a bit odd.

Great Place for Vacation
This property is beautiful. The owner was very friendly. The building looks like there were a lot of detailed that went into it. Its like a fancy log cabin with plenty of rooms for your guess. It's on a 550 acre property so it was very secluded. They have some interest animals on property to check out, which was something different. There was a fishing pier on the property that actually have fish surround it.
