This place is perfect if you are wanting some peace and quiet. The owners were very nice and responsive. Beautiful country views. I would have explored more but it was pretty hot while I was there. It has a nice porch where you can view the skies and listen to birds. I will definitely visit again!
Beautiful apartment on a beautiful ranch. Top notch kitchen with fresh eggs in the fridge for us! Large living area, comfy bed, deck overlooking the serene property.
The location is amazing, and property is superb. Waking up and enjoying the morning sun with a cup of coffee and fresh sunyside-up eggs made me reminisce of my childhood.

The host are most gracious and accommodating. I felt safe and very much at home.
The rental is beautiful and very clean. They thought of everything ;) .
If you need a quiet safe place to getaway you will love it.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mark and Lesa's property. The house was beautiful, the location was just what we were looking for. It is in such a tranquil setting. Everything we could have needed was available. The only thing we didn't have was more time to enjoy it due to a full agenda while in the area. Mark and Lesa were very friendly, informative and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. If you're looking for a slice of rural paradise to enjoy, take advantage of this gem.

It was a wonderful location for getting into nature. We like to bird watch and we had lots of fun driving the country roads. Love the sheep, chickens and kitties. Wonderful hosts and we will return! Sometimes I hate giving good reviews because dates fill up fast then. Lol
Large space, sparkling clean, beautiful kitchen. The Bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a fireplace. The owners were very nice and with quick communication. We appreciated the recommendations the owners left in the room, especially since the BBQ restaurants were closed down because of the freezing temperatures. We ended up getting food from Parker's 1-stop and it was delicious! The location was perfect...it was so nice to get out of the city. We definitely plan to go back. Five stars all the way.

We enjoyed having you down, come back when you can explore the area more.
This is a little oasis in Kansas. It was our first time visiting and we would absolutely love to come back. The property is downright gorgeous and Mark & Lesa are lovely. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. 10/10 would absolutely recommend if you're looking for a quiet beautiful place to stay. There's a small town only about 15mins away that has pretty much anything you could need including some really good local food. But we ended up spending the majority of our stay inside the home, it was so pleasant. The property surrounding is also so beautiful and worth the walk to check out. One morning we even woke up to a group of cows outside one of the windows. Again, 10/10 I would absolutely recommend. Thanks for the beautiful stay!
I've stayed at VRBO properties all across the county, over the last 20+ years and this one was top notch. From the Gourmet Kitchen to the Workspace/Desk, the owners didn't miss a thing. Not only was the apartment spotless and beautifully designed, it had all the right amenities to make you feel right at home. Trust me on this one fellow travelers, you'll be absolutely thrilled with your choice.
Mark & Lesa provide a wonderful hospitable and peaceful getaway close to Kansas City. They are amazing hosts and made my stay perfect! I will be back! If you're looking for a place that is quiet and peaceful for a retreat to get away from the noise of the city... this is where you need to go.
This place was perfect for an out of the way location. Host was awesome and even loaned us some of his stuff for a project we were working on. We hope to stay here again in the future. Thank you!!!
I honestly cannot rave enough about our experience at Mark and Lesa's property. Oh where do I begin? You know how when you go somewhere in your travels, and looking back on the memories, a certain place or person just warms the cockles of your heart entirely? Well this is THAT place. My goodness everything here was simply PERFECT!! This was the last place we stayed during a 4-night trip to the midwest. After a harrowing experience two nights earlier with another VRBO, arriving at this location was pure heaven. The space provided was the most luxurious, beautiful, cozy, comfortable, immaculate place for which we could have wished. The room is a HUGE expanse on the second floor of the main home with a gorgeous full kitchen, full bathroom, eating area, TV relaxation area, dense, plush carpeting, and cozy, comfortable bed with the prettiest pillows and comforter you ever did see. Everything in the room was just beautiful. We were seriously in awe when we opened the door and were greeted with this space. Right down to the embossed toilet paper roll, the hosts have thought of your every need. My husband and I arrived very late, almost at midnight, so we could not see the landscape around us at all while we were driving. The next morning we woke up to find ourselves in the most glorious countryside! Sheep grazing in the field outside and cows in the pasture next door, chickens in the chicken coop...it was all just breathtaking. Our favorite part, however, was getting to meet Lesa and chat with her. She showed us around the property and answered our many questions, even offering to make us breakfast (I wish we would have time to take her up on that, ha ha!). Meeting Lesa felt like we were visiting an old friend or family member. She is a charming, lovely, warm-hearted person indeed. We did not have the opportunity to meet Mark but have no doubt he is the same. We very much appreciated getting to meet her and learn about their home. We plan to return and spend more time here and see our new friend Lesa again. Our experience here reminded us that the world has wonderful, real people who, by inviting you into their home and lives, add joy to our day by showing care and sharing friendship. Thank you Lesa and Mark. We are looking forward to visiting again and are sooooo blessed to have found your VRBO listing! :)
Everything about our stay was perfect. Our hosts were very welcoming. The property was just gorgeous. We have referred them to others and will definitely be back. Thanks Lesa and Mark!!
Absolute 5-star place. Every convenience you can think of (Smart TV, Washer/dryer, fast internet, WELL-equipped kitchen, great mattress) in an idyllic rural location. Beautiful views in every direction, ZERO noise except faint bleating from a distant herd of sheep. Spotlessly clean and a huge, comfortable apartment (at 1500 ft2 it is about 6 times the average hotel room). Really nice hosts, incredible value for money. We would love to come back and stay longer. HIGHLY recommended!
Friendly hosts, everything you need and all the things you Do NOT need like noise, tv etc are not there. It is a truly unplugged place to be. Would love to return.
My company needed lodging for one of our employees who was working on a 16 day contract. This property was exceptional. It’s listed as a “studio” but it is more like a loft. Huge space, extremely clean and modern, fully equipped kitchen, and most of all, quality hosts. Whatever brings you to the area, I promise you, this is far superior to staying at any hotel. I’m not sure what the local area offers for recreation, but for business or pleasure, if you want or need to be in this neck of the woods, stay here!
I could not be more pleased with our stay. Property is wonderfully quiet, quite large and very comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked, equipment wise and prefect for our needs (other than a muffin pan, which we bought and is ready for the next guest, just our little contribution! ). Icy weather started to set in, and the owners were very concerned about our welfare and very helpful with our travel plans for the way home. We are already planning a return trip in a few months!

About the host
Hosted by Mark and Lesa Isbell
Mark and Lesa Isbell have enjoyed this property for over 30 years and are blessed to have raised three incredible girls here. Lesa is now retired from teaching school for over 27 years. Mark, who still works during the week, likes to get caught up around the farm on the weekend. Both enjoy traveling, spending time with their beautiful grandchildren, and are involved and Civil War reenacting.
Why they chose this property
Lesa and I bought this property to get away from Kansas City and raise our children in a rural setting. This property has gone through a lot of changes in 30 years, including a newly built home by our son-in law in 2013.
What makes this property unique
Unobstructed views in all directions will give you the opportunity to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Sit on the front porch to catch a rolling thunderstorm crossing the Kansas plains to the North or sit on the patio facing South for a view of farm life of cattle and sheep.
