Birchwood Resort #1 has been fully remodeled to provide a luxury vacation experience in Wisconsin's Northwoods! With 6 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms and two floors of spacious, modern updates, look no further for the most relaxing, carefree resort experience.
Located on the north end of the property, Cabin #1 offers privacy and serenity inside and out! Cathedral ceilings and large lake facing windows, the natural light and scenic views are breathtaking. Three bedrooms and two full baths are located on each level, all with large closets and luxury mattresses for the sweetest of vacation dreams. The main level kitchen and great room is the perfect place to entertain, cocktail and relax in front of the fireplace.
Birchwood Resort has been upgraded and reimagined to showcase the rustic style of the Northwoods and the natural beauty of the resort's ¼ mile of frontage on Little Saint Germain Lake. A private, sandy beach is at the center of the resort, providing a safe and memorable space to swim and splash in the water. Kayaks, a canoe, and a paddle boat are available for guest use, perfect for exploring the island just off the shore from the resort.
Little Saint Germain Lake is a 972-acre lake with several bays to explore and enjoy. Known for great fishing and boating, anglers find musky, panfish, bass, pike, and walleye. Winter adventures are even more fun with over 500+ miles of snowmobile trail throughout Vilas county.

Birch wood resort is a great location just outside the town of Saint Germain (2-3 min drive). Little Saint Germain lake is an excellent lake with clear water.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin is not as advertised. Overpriced! The best thing about it was Little St. Germain Lake! Bald eagles everywhere and lots of good fishing! Our dock was not installed upon arrival to the property! check in is late and check out a ridiculous 8am on a Saturday! Their policy has strict consequences for early arrival or late check out, but they can't have the dock installed?! It took two days to get it in and took like 10 minutes to install. Then it began to collapse so they had to come back out on day 4 to reinstall it. Spiral stairs are a deathtrap! Not only can you fall between the steps, but also through the railing! There was a boxed up washer & dryer stored in the lower level which took up a ton of space. Giant branches, brush, fall leaves had not been cleared from the deck or property. I had to clear it myself just for the family to exit the lower level door and sit around the fire pit. Shower is a rusted metal box - there is a reason why the curtain is closed in the photos. Several screens in the house are broken so flying bugs were a problem. The property is in a general state of disrepair and for the price I should've paid a a couple hundred dollars more and rented a private cabin on this same lake - with a later check out time. Water damage and mold were present. Ceiling damage. A chickadee lived in 1 of the many holes in the cabin exterior wall. This cabin did NOT comfortably fit the 12 people in our group, but it advertises that it sleeps 14. Only 1 set of sheets was provided and only 1 warm blanket, but the cabin has 3 sofa beds. I had to buy a sherpa blanket from the local bait shop. The cabin advertises 5 queen beds, but 1 is a double - okay for 2 kids - uncomfortable for 2 grown ups. Only 1 patio table instead of two - couldn't seat the whole family outside for dinner or inside. We had to eat separate. TV only had 1 channel. The beach at the Birchwood resort was nice - did not have enough kayaks, canoes, or paddles for our family to go out.

Good Morning, Thank you for taking the time to inform us of your recent stay at Birchwood Resort. Since I am new here at Hiller's, I spoke to a few people to find out more about your concerns. The dock issues are a valid concern, and we agree that the dock should have been installed before your arrival and should have been installed correctly when it was finally installed. Regarding the actual cabin itself, this cabin is on the list to be renovated. The resort was recently purchased, and the owners are working on upgrading all of the cabins. Unfortunately, the hope was to have them all done; however, the supply chain issues and labor shortage has taken much longer than anyone expected. We hope you will check back on our website and look at the renovated cabins and see the potential for Birchwood Resort #1. As stated, the recreational watercraft is available to all resort guests on a first-come basis. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you Penny Strom, Director of Sales & Hospitality

Cabin could use updating in the electrical but I believe that’s in the future plans from the owner from what we were reading. When the updating is finished I’m sure it will be perfect! Will definitely use Red Awning in the future!

Our outside deck served as our yoga studio and our private pier was a perfect spot to watch the Bald Eagles soaring and fishing. We rode Vilas County bike paths every day which was a perfect way to enjoy the incredibly beautiful landscape. Local restaurants were absolutely wonderful. A great week with a healthy balance of being busy and relaxing.
