Penny’s place is very cool. The self-contained space met all of our needs and it was perhaps the most comfortable bed we encountered during our PEI excursion. The location is excellent for accessing the national park.

Penny is a fantastic host. She was very welcoming, helpful and happy to provide advice on things to do in the area. Our favorite part of the unit was the 7 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend!
An awesome space to call home for our few days on the PEI. Penny is welcoming and friendly. If you’re lucky you could be there when she decides to bake muffins

Thank you so so much. I thought I responded to your message
Loved our stay at Penny’s place. Beautiful property and a quick walk to one of the most beautiful beaches! My sister and 15 year old nephew shared the room. We didn’t have lots of space, but we had everything we needed and the bed was great, we didn’t spend lots of time inside so it was perfect for us. We woulddefinitely visit again. Penny was a lovely host and our kind of people!

Very nice host and neighbourhood.
Cute room, nicely decorated and included lots of thoughtful extras.
The one item that we were least fond of was that the shower was shared with the host but it was close to the room.
We had an overall very good experience and our host was very generous with access to shared spaces. We could check-in early, wifi was good snd access to beach area on bike was easy. We did find it cumbersome with the 3 steps up to the bed area a bit tricky especially at night. The kettle tripped the power but it was fixed promptly. The bed was a bit soft for two people.
Perfect little spot for a couple. Location is perfect for exploring the North Shore. Penny will be sure to take care of you! Kitty therapy is free of charge.
Penny was a friendly, approachable host who was quick to answer questions and provided excellent recommendations for things to see and do in the area. The accommodation was clean and offered good value for the price. Check-in was straightforward, and Penny made us feel welcome throughout our stay. We especially appreciated her local knowledge and willingness to help with anything we needed. Overall, a pleasant stay and a good base for exploring the Stanhope area.

About the host
Hosted by Penny Macleod
Hi, I'm a long-time Prince Edward Island resident and have proudly called Stanhope home for the past 30 years, where I raised my family. I love the island lifestyle, especially being just a 5- to 7-minute walk from both the beach and the bay, where you'll often find me paddleboarding or kayaking. I'm an easy-going, independent person who genuinely enjoys meeting new people and helping them feel welcome. I also share my home with my three friendly cats—Macy, Charlie, and Judee—who are a big part of my life. I look forward to sharing the beauty and relaxed pace of Stanhope with guests and helping make their stay a memorable one.
Why they chose this property
I love calling Stanhope home, and I've been fortunate to live here for many years. My parents owned and operated Sandpiper Cottages and Suites, just around the corner from where I live, so hospitality has always been a part of my life.
When they retired from the cottage business, I realized how much I missed welcoming visitors and helping them experience everything this beautiful area has to offer. That's what inspired me to open my home as an Airbnb. I enjoy meeting guests from near and far and sharing local tips to help make their stay in Stanhope relaxing, memorable, and truly special.
What makes this property unique
One of the things that makes my property unique is its location. It's just a 5–7 minute walk to Stanhope Cape Beach, located beside the iconic Covehead Harbour Lighthouse. Whether you're looking for a peaceful walk on the beach, a day in the sun, or a breathtaking sunset, it's all just steps away.
You're also only a short walk or quick drive from Covehead Harbour, where you can enjoy a deep-sea fishing excursion with Richard's Deep Sea Fishing or savour fresh local seafood at the original Richard's Fish & Chips.
Golf enthusiasts will love being just minutes from Stanhope Golf & Country Club, one of Prince Edward Island's most scenic courses. If you're looking to relax and recharge, Stanhope Lodge offers yoga classes and a charming café, making it the perfect place to start your morning or unwind during your stay.
For an unforgettable dining experience, Dalvay by the Sea and The Dunes Studio Gallery & Café are both nearby, offering exceptional cuisine in beautiful, uniquely Island settings.
After a day of exploring, relax outside by the campfire and enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze. On quiet summer evenings, when the wind is just right, you can even hear the sound of the waves rolling onto the shore. It's one of my favourite things about living here, and I hope you'll enjoy it too.
