About the host
Hosted by Crystal MacEachern
Our names are Crystal and Andrew MacEachern and we are both born and raised on Prince Edward Island. We love our Island, especially in the summer months when there is an abundance of fresh seasonal vegetables and seafood, as well as lots of festivals and East Coast music! We are so excited to be hosting you to our cottage and we hope that you get to experience the very best of our Island culture.
Why they chose this property
Crystal's aunt and uncle were both Islanders who lived out of province due to their careers. Over twenty years ago, they purchased the cottage, and over the years they have built it into the beautiful property that you see today. In 2024, they decided that it would be their last summer at the cottage, but they wanted to ensure that the people who purchased it would love it like they did. We had been discussing the option to purchase a cottage, so when they mentioned that they would be looking to list the property, we offered to purchase it. Our favorite part is sitting on the deck during sunset and listening to the water or watching the tide go out. It's so quiet and peaceful. Another feature that we love is the option of our children sleeping out in the guesthouse bunkie, so that they have their own space. If we need them or they need us, we can just call each other using the intercom system.
What makes this property unique
I think one of the things that makes our property unique is the option of the guesthouse. It has it's own bathroom, heating/cooling system, television and sleeping quarters. This makes it a perfect space for older children to sleep, or in laws that are travelling with their family to use, that is separate without anyone feeling that they are on top of each other. It allows for larger families to have space when travelling together as there is lots of space for everyone. Being close to three great golf courses in the summer has it's perks too! Anyone travelling who loves to golf, cycle or hike on the trails, would be in a very convenient location.
