Beautiful North Asheville home minutes from Beaver Lake and Downtown Asheville.
Need a mountain retreat in the city? Our mid-century home is nestled in a quiet North Asheville neighborhood, and the backyard is adjacent to a beautiful, secluded undeveloped lot. It's a great place to walk and ride bikes because the street ends with a cul-de-sac and there is only local residential traffic. Minutes from Beaver Lake, the bird sanctuary, and great North Asheville eateries (Early Girl, Cecilias, Asheville Pizza...)
The living room features a comfortable couch and chairs, and a lovely selection of paintings featuring WNC artists.
The kitchen and china cabinet are well stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware, and local pottery. The kitchen island allows helpers to join in meal prep.
Each bedroom has extra seating, ample closet space, and storage. The secondary bedroom features Harry Potter- themed quotes and a sunflower wall quilt.
The basement bedroom also includes a desk with ground-level windows for plenty of natural light.
Kick back in the den and enjoy movies on the large screen TV. Xbox, puzzles, and games are available along with a selection of DVDs including all 7 seasons of The West Wing.
Basement includes a washer and dryer as well as work tables for folding clothes or wrapping presents.
Enjoy the birds year-round and the fireflies in the summer! The patio features a table for 4, an outdoor couch, planters and fresh herbs (rosemary, lavender, mint, and more!) Longer-term tenants can access the garden closet inside the garage for supplies to plant annuals or create hanging baskets.
Expect to see wildlife - bears, deer, turkeys, and bunnies. Give them a wide berth and they will do the same. Guests are encouraged to not leave food outside and only put out the trash on the morning of pick-up.
The driveway provides off-street parking for 6 cars and the two-car garage also includes 2 bike racks.

Cute house in very convenient, quiet neighborhood. Close to most everything. Great neighborhood to walk and bike (if you don’t mind some hill climbs). Even though it’s not a very rural setting, you will very likely see turkey and bear milling around the neighborhood from time to time, we saw several bear and many turkeys during our two month stay.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay in our North Asheville home. The undeveloped wooded lot adjacent to our backyard has been a constant source of visits from wildlife- deer, rabbits, so many birds, and of course, the bears.

Dog Smell,
Previous renters had five dogs staying in garage and pooping. Owner expected one dog. Smell was nasty. Owner tried but failed to rid the garage of the smell. Smoke alarms went off three times in middle of the night. Fire trucks arrived twice. We finally left the house and received a refund for the unused days.
Nice house in quiet neighborhood close to everything. Great low traffic areas to walk/bike and explore the neighborhood. Even through it’s close to town you still see wildlife!

What makes this property unique
Our location near Beaver Lake and the Bird Sanctuary is particularly nice. Just driving on Merrimon Avenue next to the lake and along the tree corridor makes me happy. There is a wonderful walking trail all the way around the lake and lots of opportunities for bird watching. We've seen great blue herons, green herons, osprey, chimney swifts, bluebirds and more.
