An extremely beautiful gem with tons of property to explore. The hosts were very fast at responding to any questions during the stay, and the cottage was well maintained, clean, and had everything needed for a luxurious cottage stay in a pristine location. This cottage was totally worth the cost, and we had a great time.

Excellent place, totally recommend it! Our family had a great time. The property is beautiful and great and is everything you need close by. The sorroundings are also espectacular. The house was very clean. I appreciated the great communication, detailed instruccions and flexibility from the owner!

One of the best stay….

Tharanga is easy to communicate with and was very responsive. The location is extremely scenic and peaceful. Our group of 14 had plenty of room to sit and enjoy being together. The property was very clean, and well-equipped.Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, scenic gateway

Place is secluded. Property was clean however the kitchen utensils, pots/ pans needed to be cleaned or replaced. Bathrooms and rooms were clean as well. A lot of bugs so please make sure you are prepared well with bug sprays. Otherwise pleasant stay.Please make sure you take extra towels if you are a larger party as not enough towels. Deck chairs needed to be cleaned of webs and insects. Kettle needs to be replaced. Cell coverage is very poor there, however wifi was good.

Our family had a great trip over at the Thanu Shack in Tobermory. The location itself is quite peaceful, scenic with a great view of the lake and in the evenings, you can even get a beautiful sunset view as well. You can tell there is a lot of thought and effort put into the setup, with beautiful decor, coffee/tea station with multiple flavours, and clear instructions throughout the house. Their fire grill was easy to use and they even provide a fire starter if you want to use their fire pit for some s’mores fun and enjoy family time. Lastly, we found the host to be very responsive and accommodating - any questions we had were addressed very quickly in a courteous manner.A few things to look out for if you plan to visit would be there are quite a few spiders outdoors on the windows and doors, all the soaps provided were quite watery so you may be better off bringing your own and lastly, it would be nice to have extra window coverings in the bathrooms.

Excellent dream home stay

We are a group of friends with their families who traveled to Tobermory for the first time. Just as we entered the drive way, we were left awestruck by the view. People who love to be isolated from the busy life and want a peaceful getaway, this is your go to place.The cottage definitely made us feel home. They have everything we needed. The kitchen is better than any other places I have stayed in so far. It has far more than what we need, including blenders. It has a long dining table alongside the living room. Best place where we spent a lot of time together with fun and laughter.Our entire crew had a bedroom room of their choice and convenience. A family with a baby loved a room on the lower level with a crib. A couple chose a lake view room on the lower level. A family of 4 chose the bunk beds on the top floor. Another family with a kid on the main level master bedroom. Bathrooms were neat and they have half bath and full bathrooms located on all levels which is convenient for people staying in each room. Towels and basic toiletries are provided. Evenings are awesome with splendid sunset view. Remember it’s raw nature, so you can expect flies and insects. They provided bug spray as well. Morning are good time to walk to the lake shore. This is a rocky beach with waves, not suitable for swimming.Ample space for parking 5 cars. Finally, garbage disposal was easier. All the instructions are clearly given. The host is so responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!
