About this property
Hot Tub, EV Charger, Plus Stunning Hill Country Stargazing & Wildlife

Nestled into the rolling hills of Spring Branch, Texas, the Napping Fox Cottage is a serene two-bedroom, one-bathroom retreat where comfort meets calm and nature steals the show. With peaceful Hill Country views, charming details, and local wildlife (including deer, wild turkeys and a namesake fox who wanders through occasionally), this getaway invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect with family, friends, or simply with yourself.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be swept away by the soothing atmosphere and Nordic-inspired functional design. Soft sage green tones, natural wood textures, and minimalist decor create a tranquil backdrop to the incredible views just outside your door.
Bedroom 1 is a spacious suite featuring a luxurious king-size adjustable bed, perfect for reading, lounging, or customizing each side to your preferred sleep position. A streaming TV adds a little entertainment for cozy nights in.
Bedroom 2 also features a plush king bed and a restful vibe—ideal for couples or families traveling together.
The full bathroom includes a tub/shower combo with an extra-tall shower head for a more comfortable rinse after a day exploring nearby Canyon Lake or hiking through the Hill Country.
The galley kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals at home, from the electric stove and oven to the microwave, drip coffee maker, tea kettle and generous stone countertops. Enjoy your meals at the dining table for four, just off the kitchen and living area.
In the living room, a wall of windows floods the space with natural light and brings the outdoors in. When weather permits, you can open the retractable glass doors and let the breeze flow through from the screened-in porch. A pair of recliners, two club chairs, and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace (with decorative logs and LED candles for ambience) make this space equally suited for morning coffee or stargazing with a nightcap.
Outdoors, the magic continues. The screened porch offers a convertible picnic table that doubles as two benches—a cozy spot for dining, relaxing, or playing games. Step out to the private hot tub under the stars, set at a scenic lookout point where unspoiled Hill Country views stretch for miles. There’s also an outdoor shower, a charcoal grill (BYO charcoal), and a propane grill for barbecue nights.
Wander the property to find a second lookout area with Adirondack rocking chairs, a peaceful perch for sunrise coffee or sunset wine. And keep an eye out—you just might spot a fluffy-tailed fox dozing in the sunshine somewhere nearby.
With WiFi, a full-sized washer and dryer, and space to unwind both indoors and out, the Napping Fox Cottage is the kind of place that feels like a well-kept secret.
Please note:
-The property is accessed via a dirt road that can be rough at times, A truck or SUV is best, but neighbors with lower-clearance vehicles drive safely (and slowly) every day.
-The outdoor area includes uneven and sloped terrain, loose rocks, and native ground cover, some of which can be prickly. Please use caution if exploring the property.
-This is a rural Hill Country setting, so you may also encounter scorpions, spiders, and or even snakes or other wildlife—as well as a rich array of birds. It's all part of the charm, but guests should stay aware and tread thoughtfully outdoors.
-While the property overlooks the Guadalupe River, shown in aerial photos and sometimes visible through the trees from the hot tub patio and stone landing, there is no direct access from the home or yard across an adjacent private property.
For the safety and security of our guests and property, exterior security cameras are in use. Cameras are located at the entrance of the property and on the back corners of the house, covering the back walk-up areas. These cameras are positioned to monitor only the exterior and do not face into any interior living spaces, ensuring your privacy during your stay.
