About this property
Quentin's Cottage - cosy restored miner's house-close to rainforest and trails!
Let the wild stir your soul!
Get ready to unwind by the fire in our beautifully restored miner's cottage. Nestled among dramatic West Coast mountains with a view of Mt Owen. Quentin's Cottage is the perfect place to recharge for tackling the untamed West Coast.
For the adventurous it's 1.8km to MTB trails and close to ancient rainforest, hiking trails and Lake Burbury. Walk to town for art galleries, cafes, bars, and the iconic railway—then return to cozy up by the fire.
The space
All three bedrooms have their own unique character, featuring original timbers. Electric blankets ensure a warm and restful night’s sleep and electric heaters for those really cold nights.
Take in the views of Mt Owen from the backyard and unwind by the fire in the open-plan living area. Choose a book from the library, play a board game or puzzle, or curl up with a DVD from our extensive collection. A heat pump provides warmth in cooler months and air conditioning in summer.
The fully equipped modern kitchen includes a double oven, induction stove, and microwave—perfect for a cosy night in. The large island bench offers plenty of seating, and the copper benchtop pays tribute to Queenstown’s rich mining heritage and the people who once lived here.
After a day of exploring, hiking, or mountain biking, make use of the washing machine and dryer to refresh for your next adventure.
A cot is available on request at no extra cost—just let us know in advance so we can have it ready for you.
Please note that the property is 4 bedrooms with one of the bedrooms closed to store cleaning products, linen and kitchen supplies.

Why they chose this property
Our family fell in love with Queenstown and the West Coast after passing through in 2019. We love the outdoors, hiking, biking, mountains and the arts - everything Queenstown has to offer!
What makes this property unique
Our property is a 125yr old miners cottage built during the mining boom that put Queenstown on the world map. It was lovingly restored in 2022, uncovering original timbers floors and wall linings. Some of the wall linings have been left exposed as a nod to the home's history.
