About this property
Funday Wild, Luxury on the edge of a hyper dynamic wilderness
Welcome to Funday Wild. Nothing separates you here from original nature. You witness the Bay of Fundy rise and fall twice a day to 36 feet during the full moon.
It is hyper dynamic, to catch it you want to slow down, be quiet, and pay attention. You are 130 ft above the high tide line and looking 180 degrees south at Apple River Nova Scotia and The Raven Head Wilderness Preserve.
Great trails to the beach below and the forest where you are, are reached by walking out the front door.
Foxes, bald eagles, peregrine falcons, marauding bands of crows, the warblers spring migration, hummingbirds, typical bird residents and all kinds of sea birds may be witnessed never leaving the decks. You are in the wilderness and the last man made sound you heard was likely your car door closing.
The home is a "machine for living". The tools reflect that ethos. Solid curated wood tables, benches, countertops, floors, walls, ceilings, timber frame with the exterior of the building and its windows and doors made exclusively of Kebony wood the first in the world. We also use wood to heat the home in the Danish wood stove (electric heaters are found in each room with integrated thermostat for individual needs), the Finnish wood stove in the sauna and the outdoor Gizeh wood grill. Speaking of grilling there is a 76,000 BTU Crown Verity BBQ, an LG induction stove/range, Vevor under counter refrigeration drawers, German knives, Italian coffee maker, Smeg juicer, Le Creuset cookware, Riedel crystal , Royal Doulton china and quality gadjets. This kitchen is designed to be cooked in. Amenities also include steamer, sauna, starlink, QLED 72" TV, home theather, and 4 pairs of speakers.
If you don't want to cook, there are a few great restaurants and a few good restaurants one kilometre away in Alma, May to November (some remain open after that). Moncton, an hour and 15 minutes away, has a very dynamic food scene. To earn your supper you may wish to avail yourself to Fundy National Park (1 km away) and have your mind blown on the Coastal Trail. Hopewell Rocks is half way to Moncton and can make a great day trip. There are kayak and e-bike rentals in town.
You are in the Fundy Biosphere (check out TVO doc" Striking Balance"). Just about anywhere you go along the coast is going to be rugged, wild, dangerous and beautiful. Be careful people.
Note: There are 3 binders of notes about the house and the area for those that appreciate the details. This place is best experienced quietly, perceptively, "FULLY COMPLETELY".
