Brand New Cottage Steps from Caribbean-Side Tranquility Bay Beach

Welcome to Startlit Retreat, a brand new (October 2025) cottage a short walk from two spectacular beaches. Startlit Retreat is a 3-minute walk down a private bath to a world-class Caribbean Beach called Tranquility Bay. You will usually have this beach to yourself!

If you prefer an Atlantic-side beach, a 5-minute walk down Knowles Drive will take you to a beautiful Atlantic side beach. On the way you will pass Sweet and Savory take-out restaurant, a 2 minute walk from the cottage.

Startlit Retreat features one bedroom with a king bed, one full bath, and 50" smart TV. The modern island kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas range and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, and more. The living room is equipped with a wall-mounted flat screen smart TV and a sofa and chair. Amenities include air conditioning throughout, Starlink, satellite and a washer/dryer.

Outside, Startlit Retreat has a wrap-around veranda. The cottage is nestled in the woods in a quiet spot just off the main road. Amenities on the property include a basketball court and a trampoline. We also have beach chairs and beach umbrella.

A 7-minute drive takes you to Governors Harbour, the main town on Eleuthera. Governors Harbour has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won't want to miss it.

Startlit Retreat is located 5 minutes from the Governors Harbour Airport and 50 minutes from the North Eleuthera Airport.

Perfect Getaway

We spent 5 nights in Starlit Retreat for a quick beach getaway. Just the two of us and the cottage was the perfect size. The location was ideal as we could walk down to the Caribbean side to Tranquility Bay and have a little slice of heaven all to ourselves. I think over the 5 days, we saw 2 other folks on the beach. We did a lot of open water swimming and just lounging on the beautiful sand. One bonus we didn't expect was the convenience of having the little food truck across the street from our cottage. Sweet and Savory was the name, and they offered some tasty and reasonably priced choices. We'd often pick up our lunch and then head to the beach to enjoy it. Starlit Retreat was just what we needed, quiet, convenient (about an hour's drive from ELH airport) and fully stocked with whatever we needed. If you decide you want groceries, I'd recommend heading into Governor's Harbor to Eleuthera Markets, great selection and the prices were competitive.
