Bemm River Cottages Perch Cottage - Pet friendly well-equipped holiday cottage
Located centrally in Bemm River just a few minutes from the main boat ramp, hotel and fishing platforms, Perch Cottage is a well-appointed lodging with loads of amenities, such as: TV, DVD and free Wi-Fi, to name but a few.
Perch Cottage has two separate bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen bed and one single bed. The second bedroom contains a double bed plus two single beds. (5 separate beds)
A split system reverse cycle air conditioner, slow combustion wood heater and remote-control ceiling fans take care of your heating and cooling needs.
Perch Cottage is also pet friendly (by arrangement) free of charge. Pets should be housed outdoors, whenever possible. In the advent that this is not possible, please ensure all furniture and beds are covered adequately.
Perch Cottage offers a well-equipped kitchen with an open plan living/dining area. Together these cottages can accommodate groups of up to 14 guests, whilst the inclusion of our 7 flats at 93 Sydenham Parade, just 3-4 minutes by car, or a pleasant 25-minute walk, can increase this size up to a maximum of 45 guests, enough to cover nearly all groups.
There is a chest freezer in the laundry, for your catch of the day.
A washing machine, laundry trough, clothes basket and outdoor rotary clothesline should meet most of your laundry needs.
A BBQ on the back deck and shared outdoor furniture together with a chiminea, should have your entertainment needs pretty well covered as well.
Guests have access to a covered carport there is also ancillary parking on the lawns and road verges, shared with Bream Cottage, next door.
Guests staying at our cottages are also welcome to utilise other facilities at 93 Sydenham Parade. The large BBQ area with presentation facilities, large screen TV, free WiFi (Network ID & password on the fridge) and seating for approx. 45 guests with a full kitchen, BBQ's of all sorts, including our Pièce de résistance, a Global Warmer pizza oven fitted with a hot/cold smoker, a hooded BBQ, a kettle BBQ, flat top BBQs and charcoal burners. The Global Warmer cooks a great pizza, so Saturday nights are quite often pizza nights, BYO ingredients/pizzas, call if you wish to participate.
There is also a games room with a pool table, including eight ball, billiards, snooker and kelly pool. A table tennis table, hookey board, kiddies toys, a guest PC with internet connection, books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, a large screen TV with Kayo Sports and Netflix and Amazon Prime movies. There is a stereo system and comfortable recliner couches and chairs.
Guests who require cleaning or linen changes should contact the office where arrangements can be made.
Ice is available in the big freezer in the Guests Laundry, also at 93 Sydenham Parade, an honesty box system is in use.

I am a qualified, retired, electrician and all-round handyman. I love to make my homebrew and pitch in with preparing venison products at the local Men's Shed. I enjoy hosting because I get to meet many new friends and catch up with old ones. It is a rewarding experience.
Why they chose this property
A lifestyle change was called for due to the rat race that is Melbourne, so as an avid fisherman, having fished the mighty Bemm for many, many years, usually making two to three trips down here per year and also looking to futureproof my retirement, Bemm River was a no-brainer.
It is a tight knit little community that caters for most of your basic needs and you get to choose how much or how little you participate in the various committees and clubs, including a quite different Menshed that produces venison products.

What makes this property unique
The cottages were built by a builder as holiday homes for family and friends and when they were put on the market in 2020, we decided to sell our rental property in Craigieburn, just north of Melbourne and set them up as holiday accommodation. A lot of hard work and effort went into getting them up and running, now they are next level lodgings.
