About this property

Welcome to White Oaks, a luxury retreat nestled quietly on the Quyon River.

Conveniently located just a 2-minute drive from the Quyon Ferry and 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa, this cottage provides a peaceful getaway for onsite enjoyment or day excursions around the Pontiac region or the National Capital area.

Featuring original artwork by several Canadian artists, the cottage hosts 6-8 guests and is tastefully decorated with original furniture made from local trees and crafted by your host with the help of a local carpenter.

Take a dip in the spa conveniently sunk into the deck - stars abound! Enjoy a picnic in the yard or an evening around one of the beautifully designed propane or wood fire pits. Relax in front of the 65” TV in the main area or lounge around on the mezzanine overlooking the surrounding area. Take in local wildlife, including a family of curious deer, a few furtive foxes and many species of birds. Take a short walk to your own private beach and swimming hole beneath the Quyon falls. Paddle board or wade in the river (1-5 feet deep, depending on the season), starting at the falls or from the seasonal dock beneath the cottage. Quad trails as well as skidoo trails are just a two-minute drive away! Come and explore the Pontiac!

Host was very helpful from the time we book with any questions. From what was the best cafe bakery around to things to do on the area. The property is very peaceful and relaxing. Was an amazing stay and will be marking this as a favourite to bring family back to. Very helpful and the best homemade granola in the welcome basket.

I cannot fault this property or the host. This place is amazing. It’s brand new, very well equipped, super comfortable, beautiful, fun…The river to swim in just perfect. The town of Quyon had a lovely parade for Canada Day (and is walking distance from the property). We really enjoyed our stay and my only request is for a small skating rink if we come in the winter . Ruth was a very attentive host, and proud of this glorious property she has created.

It was such a pleasure to host Sylvie and her group recently, and so good to know that White Oaks met their expectations! Quyon is indeed a lovely village, and access to the river and falls are a real plus for guests. Rest assured, if there isn't a skating rink on site this winter, there are usually at least two very close by!

I am a bilingual rural family physician.
I designed the cottage with guests in mind. Its original artwork was carefully selected and inspired the rest of the décor. Accent furniture was designed and built using local wood.
I have greatly enjoyed the process of preparing the site! I look forward to greeting guests who appreciate and respect its unique nature and features.
I live locally and am proud of everything the Pontiac has to offer!

Why they chose this property

White Oaks is a peaceful 4 acre property nestled between the highway and the river. There is a wonderful flowing quality to the way the different areas of the site blend with each other.
Accessibility is a great advantage for guests - the Quyon ferry is two minutes away and goes back and forth from Fitzroy Harbour (a sector of Ottawa) 6 times an hour. The Aylmer sector of Gatineau is just 25 minutes away, and from there to downtown Ottawa is about 20 minutes more.

What makes this property unique

Guests have access to a small lot right below the Quyon falls - a great place to have a picnic and take a dip in the swimming hole! There is also a fire pit there.
There is a good amount of wildlife on the property: deer, foxes, wild turkeys, bird varieties.
A short stroll to the village of Quyon will take you past the Egan Mill, and down to the large general store, as well the Community Centre grounds.
