Makarora Mountainview Studio offers spectacular views of the mountains and river valley, nestled in the picturesque Makarora Valley at the heart of the Southern Alps. Conveniently located halfway between Queenstown and the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers, this Studio provides an ideal base for exploring the region.

Guests have access to laundry facilities until 8:30 pm, located in a separate building and featuring a washer, dryer, and an outdoor clothesline.

Unwind in the serene atmosphere of the studio and enjoy the private deck, where you can observe native New Zealand birds such as the Kahu (Hawk), Kaka (mountain parrot, seen in summer), Karearea (Falcon), Kereru, Korimako (Bellbird), Miromiro (Tomtit), Ruru (Morepork), Piwakawaka (Fantail), and Tui. At night, take in the stunning, unspoiled night skies from this pristine part of New Zealand.
Guests can also enjoy watching sheep on the neighbouring farm, just 20 metres from the studio.

· Explore the new 1.2km Charteris Track, starting at the bottom of the property and connecting to the local Nature Walk and Mt Shrimpton Track
· Visit glow worms in the saw pit along the Nature Walk at night

· Choose from numerous hikes, including the multi-day Gillespie Pass Circuit for dedicated trampers
