About this property
Woburn Field Hangar House in York
The Woburn Field Hangar House has been designed for a couple looking for that quiet time together, enjoying the lack of noise and the beautiful views away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The Hangar House space is fully furnished, warm, quaint and spacious while being rustic and aviation themed.
Enjoy quiet reading, stargazing, bush walks, bird watching or just wine and cheese around the campfire.
If you're looking to unwind and enjoy the country, the Hangar House is perfect for you.
The Woburn Field Hangar House is located approximately 10km to the east of the York township in the heart of the West Australian wheatbelt.
The property is less than a 1.5 hour drive from the Perth CBD, comprising 160 acres of farmland and 50 acres of native bushland featuring stunning views to the east (Needling Hills) and west (Mount Bakewell).
The property has a runway, and if so inclined guests are welcome to fly themselves in.
Perfect for a weekday or weekend getaway or longer stay, the property is the ideal home base for exploring all that our lovely town of York has to offer.
We have many resident kangaroos who come into the open spaces at sunrise and sunset. Birdlife is prolific.
Total floor area is approximately 85 sq/m.
The open plan living area incorporates a fully equipped kitchen and lounge area with an airconditioner, woodfire, television and comfy lounges.
The bathroom is well sized and well appointed.
The bedroom is generously sized with a queensized bed and is cooled by a ceiling fan.
The verandah around the house or the aircraft apron is a nice place to sit with your tea or coffee and just relax and take it all in.
The wildflowers are amazing when in season.
There is an outside firepit on the aircraft apron perfect for enjoying cheese and wine whilst observing the stars at one of the region's darkest and prime stargazing points.
Property access is controlled by electric gates, to which we will provide you with a remote or a gate code.
Please be mindful of the stop sign as you approach or leave the Hangar House.
Stop and look for aircraft as you will cross a runway.
The entire property is yours to enjoy and explore, just keep walking until you come to a fence and you have found the boundary.
There is also an additional fire pit and woodfired BBQ, located on a hill 5 minutes walk away, we call Eagles Nest, ideal for a small fire and glass of wine whilst you watch the sunset over Mount Bakewell.
We don't have internet available in the Hangar House although 4G & 5G telephone services are available.
Fires permitted during season as dictated by the Shire of York.
The Hangar house is located approximately 100m from the main house, although guests are assured of their privacy while staying.
As we are a working farm we don't allow pets. We do have a family dog who is very friendly.
