The Big Horn A Frame is the most amazing time capsule vacation rental. If you want to feel what Taos Ski Valley felt like in its original 1970s heyday, this is it. It has a spacious open concept living, dining and kitchen area flanked by two queen bedrooms and one bath downstairs, and upstairs is all about sleeping space - two more bedrooms and a loft twin and an updated bathroom.
Taos Ski Valley history runs deep in this original 1960’s A-Frame cabin, one of the first built in the valley. Cherished by a single family spanning four generations, its deep history is evident in the space with instant, homey comfort and a collection of vintage heirlooms and memorabilia, reflecting the family’s open-door spirit. A true skier's retreat: just a 10-minute walk to the chair lift, shops and restaurants. Watch the snow fall over Al’s run from the two-story windows and deck and always get first tracks. Return home to the coziest après-ski, featuring plenty of seating, an extended dining table, and built-in bar. Spend evenings playing games and imagining simpler times, where you might have found a martini hidden in the trees on the mountain. This historic stay is a true vestige of the valley's original charm, complete with fondue sets and décor items to match its storied past. When taking a break from some of the best alpine skiing in the West, there are plenty of other activities such as hiking, ice skating, snowshoeing and village shops readily accessible. In warmer months, enjoy fishing, hiking, berry picking and the refreshing cool-mountain air. The cabin offers two downstairs bedrooms, and 1 full bath, while an upstairs loft has 2 additional bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and small loft space. The cabin is fully appointed for making memories, from a comfortable living and dining space to a stocked kitchen, new stove, standard refrigerator and enough cooking and serving supplies to host your crew. This unpretentious gem is priced as friendly as we can. We hope you will enjoy this vintage treasure as much as the many generations of family, friends and ski valley legends who have passed through these doors.
