About this property
Large luxury apartment that overlooks lake & includes free security parking.
Chandler Lakeside Apartment is a fully renovated, beautifully designed and carefully furnished apartment that offers vast lakeside views. Enjoy the extensive private balcony, perfect for morning coffee, outdoor dining, or relaxing at sunset. It is on the third floor of a three story block. It doesn't include a lift but the stairs are very manageable. With only two large apartments on each floor it is not a high rise.
The apartment offers full reverse cycle ducted air-conditioning. Remote controlled blinds across all windows welcome the view and optically treated glass provide comfort all year round. A centralised smart home system controls lights and audiovisual with an easy all off function. High speed internet (26Mbps) allows seamless access.
THE KITCHEN
The apartment's focal point is a new kitchen including a vast Italian quartzite bench that sits beneath a unique architectural hanging light. The kitchen includes task lighting, modern storage, full cooktop and oven and a built-in fridge and dishwasher. Dishwasher tablets are under the sink. The alcove features a microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Beans available for guest use.
LIVING & DINING ROOM
Fifties style parker sofas create spacious and comfortable seating while the original restored fifties dining table seats six, over-hung with dimmable pendants. The dining table can be used as a workspace if needed and double sliding doors open on to the balcony. Large shelves contain Riedel glassware, a wide range of historic books and games.
THE BEDROOM
The bedroom includes queen bed with a premium mattress and a range of pillow types and a large built in mirrored wardrobe. Elegant twin sconces deliver dimmable light to suit all users. A second bedroom is locked for host storage and cleaning supplies.
THE BATHROOM
A generous new bathroom includes a frameless glass shower stall with a double shower head and unique feature tiles. The vanity mirror's automated lighting allows for use as night light. Luscious new towels are provided together with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Sliding doors in the bathroom open to a Eurostyle laundry that includes a modern washing machine, a dryer and laundry sink, a vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board.
THE BALCONY
The expansive lake views guarantees enjoyment of the sky's changing moods while an electric awning provides shelter and privacy. A bar table and stools together with a gas BBQ ensures relaxed outdoor dining. A carefully planted balcony garden includes rosemary and thyme. A gardener will come in once a week to tend to the plants. Permission will be sought beforehand.
GARAGE PARKING
The apartment includes undercover secure parking for one car with a remote provided. The remote works best when the car is close to the roll up door. Additional outside parking is available on site or on Chandler St.
ACCESS
There are two ways to access the apartment – either through a door to the stairs from the undercover garage or via the front door at the third set of stairs, down the path way from the outdoor parking. Each booking will have exclusive access to one undercover parking area (#48) via a remote control. The remote will be provided on arrival. The door to the apartment is operated by a code. Please generate a code that will be easy for you to recall after the booking is confirmed and deposit has been paid. The outdoor key can be sticky and will need a little jiggling but will work. Please remember to leave the front door key or swipe card and the garage remote control in mailbox #48 before you leave. AUDIO VISUAL GUIDE & SMART
HOME SYSTEM
A comprehensive step by step guide is provided. Lights and music are mostly controlled by the clearly marked switches next to the air conditioning. Wind down with a selection of streaming services and music supported by a Dolby Atmos immersive sound. A built in charge station for Apple, Google and Android phones and tablets is located under the kitchen bench. Please bring your own charge cords. The Pixel phone on the kitchen bench is connected to the small speaker nearby. It is operated by instructions to 'Alexa' as described in the guide. Please don’t disconnect.
RUBBISH & RECYCLING
Rubbish goes into the large skip bins next to the undercover garage door. The bin on the far left is for recyclable materials. Please break down all cardboard boxes. The rubbish bin in the kitchen has two sections - the back bin is for dry recycling - paper, tins, bottles etc - and the front for general household rubbish. Liners for the front bin are on the shelf above the bins.

About the host
Hosted by Heather Ogilvie
I'm a lifetime adventurer, whether seeking out the steepest ski fields, mountain biking down Stromlo or racing a rally car in my younger days. I love most musical genres. I spent years as the flautist in a travelling folk band, have sung in a mass choir at the Sydney Opera House and am a classical tenor in the Canberra Choral Society. I'm also the proud father of two adult children.
I look forward to welcoming you to my beautiful home while I'm on a long trip across Sth America.

Why they chose this property
I chose this apartment for its incredible views that allow me to begin and end my days peacefully. I love being part of a very small complex - only 6 apartments in the block with large rooms and high ceilings.
I'm a passionate skier and I love that Perisher is only two hours from home.

What makes this property unique
It's an easy walk from the apartment to natural lake trails, only a block from a Westfield Mall, close to a choice of cafes and restaurants and only 20-30 minutes drive to the centre of Canberra and all its key attractions.
