We had a wonderful 5 week stay here. John was a terrific host — communication was excellent throughout, and when Air Canada unexpectedly cancelled our flight back to Kelowna, he very generously allowed us to stay an extra day. The location is exceptional — literally about 25 metres from Rue Saint-Jean, with its restaurants, cafés, shops, music, bars and wonderful atmosphere, yet tucked just far enough away from the bustle. It was an ideal base for exploring Vieux-Québec. We never ran out of things to do and we had some exceptional dining experiences.The apartment itself is charmingly appointed and exceptionally well equipped. John really has thought of absolutely everything, including a grocery shopping cart, reusable shopping bags, coffee makers, bandaids and stationery supplies, scissors - even a ball of string! Supplies are generous rather than just the bare minimum, and the kitchen had all sorts of unexpected staples including olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and honey. The bed linen and the towels were first rate. He hasn’t cut any corners. It genuinely felt like a home rather than simply a rental. The air conditioning was also a huge bonus. Walking into a beautifully cool apartment after being out on a hot and humid Vieux-Québec day was wonderful.A charming, comfortable and extremely well-equipped place to stay, in a fabulous location, with a kind and thoughtful host. We would happily return.
