About this property

The Driscoll on Fitzroy

Stay close to Tamworth CBD, Peel Street and the Country Music Festival action without giving up the space and calm of an East Tamworth home. The Driscoll is a pet-friendly, three-bedroom home with two bathrooms, separate living zones, a private fully fenced yard and the practical comforts needed for professional stays, family visits and longer bookings.

Inside, the single-level layout gives families, colleagues and project teams room to gather, work or retreat. Whole-home air conditioning and gas and electric fireplaces provide year-round comfort. A full kitchen, laundry and filtered water throughout support self-contained stays, while high-speed NBN fibre, strong indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet make working from the property straightforward.

The front porch, rear terrace and fenced yard extend the living space outdoors. A detached garage, reached from the rear laneway, provides parking for one vehicle and Type 2 EV charging. The garage is shared with the host rather than reserved exclusively for guests. Free street parking is available directly in front.

Sleeping arrangements:

Two queen bedrooms sleep four guests. The study has a king-single-over-king-single bunk, providing two further sleeping positions suitable for adults or children. The lounge double sofa bed sleeps another two guests and can be prepared before arrival when requested. Maximum occupancy is eight people in total, including infants. Using the sofa bed converts part of the lounge into a sleeping area and reduces shared living space. The upper bunk is not recommended for children under nine. No cot is supplied.

Security disclosure:

An external doorbell camera monitors the front entry. A camera in the detached, host-shared garage covers the rear gate and garage door. There are no cameras inside the home.

A pet friendly stay in Tamworth - very close to shops, great pubs and cafes. Our dog loved the walking loop along the river levee bank and we loved lunch at the Glasshouse

Great House

We had three nights at The Driscoll and the location was excellent and very quiet. The house was very comfortable and no expense had been spared in making it a beautiful holiday rental. The only thing we would add is the need for some spare blankets as we needed an extra blanket for each queen size bed.You do need to read the instructions for how the house runs but we had no problems at all.We would definitely recommend The Driscoll.

About the host

Hosted by The Driscoll on Fitzroy

Host profile image
At The Driscoll, hosting means caring for a long-held family home while making it genuinely welcoming and useful to guests. The aim is simple: a stay that feels dependable, considered and easy from arrival to departure.

We value thoughtful preparation, clear communication and giving guests the space to settle in. The property is professionally presented and supported locally throughout each stay, so practical assistance is close at hand whenever it is needed.

Why they chose this property

The Driscoll sits on Fitzroy Street, on the cusp of Tamworth CBD and the East Tamworth Heritage Precinct. Peel Street dining and retail, commercial and civic precincts, health services, entertainment and event activity are close at hand, while the immediate setting remains residential.

This balance works naturally for professional and project stays, family visits and event weekends alike. During the Tamworth Country Music Festival, guests remain close to the activity around Fitzroy and Peel streets, then return to a quieter home base. Nearby parks, riverside paths and recreation offer an easy change of pace.

It is Tamworth at its most practical: work, food, services and experiences within easy reach, without giving up the calm of an established neighbourhood.

What makes this property unique

The Driscoll offers something difficult to reproduce: a genuine East Tamworth home, built in the 1920s and held by the same family for five generations. Its inter-war Californian Bungalow form and Old English influence give it a distinct architectural identity and a strong sense of place.

Beyond its history, the house has the scale and separation that make a stay feel effortless. Generous rooms and distinct sleeping, lounge, dining and outdoor zones give guests space to come together, focus on work or retreat privately, which is especially valuable over longer stays.

That combination is The Driscoll’s real point of difference: family continuity, heritage character and the everyday ease of a whole home. Guests are not simply booking somewhere to sleep, but a well-cared-for Tamworth home with room to settle in and a story of its own.
