Enjoy privacy on your deck in a charming glamper in historic Heart’s Content. Have a campfire, and launch your kayak just a few yards away. A perfect base from which to explore the many historical, cultural and natural attractions of the Baccalieu Trail, starting with the Transatlantic Cable Station Museum just up the road on your way to the lighthouse. From museums, festivals, food, hiking trails, swimming and beaches. The Baccalieu Trail has it all and Heart’s Content is right in the center.
Please note that these photos are from when my Mother ran the glamper. I will update photos as soon as possible, when the snow goes. There is new patio furniture, kitchen table, chairs and curtains.
Large property with working rose garden and a greenhouse growing vegetables. All next to the ocean. Throw in beautiful wild roses and the smell is divine.
There is no public transportation so a car is necessary to explore the whole Baccalieu trail. A short walk will take you to the swimming hole and the Mizzen Pond walking trail.
There is a lovely market right across the road with all your needs, food and toiletries.

About the host
Hosted by Ashley Sweetland
I’m originally from Corner Brook NL I left when I got the travel bug myself. I’ve lived in 4 countries and travelled to over 20. Add that with 20+yrs in the hospitality industry, I know what is expected when hosting a getaway. My Mother build the home on the property in 2014 and the glamper came in 2019. It’s a large property with a rose garden and a working greenhouse. I work seasonally as a grower at a local nursery. You could say I have two green thumbs, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as they say. I am away a lot during the summer, but easily reached and will go out of my way to answer any of your questions or concerns
Why they chose this property
The Glamper is set back from the main road, where the Main Brook meets the harbour. The Cable Market known for its butcher, with a bakery, Leggs restaurant, a swimming hole, an art gallery, The Cable Station Museum, celebrating its 160yr anniversary of the first successful permanent transatlantic telegraph cable, reducing the time to communicate across the Atlantic from weeks to minutes. An eighteenth century graveyard within walking distance. A wharf for fishing sea trout, and many brooks and ponds for fishing.
The Baccalieu trail is a walker’s paradise for all skills levels. From linear walks along the ocean’s edge to more challenging treks, our trails provide up close and personal enjoyment of ocean views, beaches, barrens, rock walls and natural formations, historical sites, berry picking and more. Outside Pond in Winterton is accessible and features fresh water swimming. Heart’s Content is home to one end of the historic D’Iberville trail and the Mizzen trail.
What makes this property unique
There isn’t many glampers around. Which makes this little getaway affordable for most.
