About the host
Hosted by Hoàng Thị Thủy
Vi’s House is a small home nestled in nature, beside a peaceful H’Mong village in Sa Pa. Surrounded by mountains, gardens, and the gentle rhythm of local life, it is a place to slow down, breathe fresh mountain air, and experience Sa Pa in a quiet, authentic way.
Built with natural materials and an open connection to its surroundings, Vi’s House reflects a simple way of living — close to nature and local culture.
In the early days, we began by raising a wooden frame, shaping locally sourced stone into walls, and planting trees around the garden. Pine trees, roses, peach, plum, and pear trees were carefully planted, with the hope that the house would grow alongside nature — slowly, gently, and full of life. As the house gradually took shape, we focused on open spaces that welcome fresh air and natural light. Large windows open to the vegetable garden and offer views of the surrounding forests and mountains of Sau Chua, creating a calm and airy atmosphere throughout the home.
The house features two ground-floor bedrooms and two bathrooms, designed for comfort and ease, especially for families and long stays. Above, a loft space offers a wide, uninterrupted view of the Sau Chua mountain landscape — quiet, expansive, and deeply connected to nature. Both bedrooms look out onto the garden, allowing greenery to be part of everyday living.
The swimming pool is designed without chemical treatment, using natural mountain water sourced directly from above. Our vegetable garden is grown entirely using natural organic methods — soil restoration, compost from organic waste, and well-composted animal manure. We use no chemical fertilizers and no pesticides, even for the flowers in the garden.
Everything here is created slowly and mindfully, with the hope that the house lives in harmony with the land, the water, and the surrounding nature.
Why they chose this property
Sau Chua is a small village located on the mountainside, about a 20-minute drive from the center of Sa Pa town. Quiet and uncrowded, Sau Chua has its own unique beauty — simple, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature.
The village is surrounded by mountains, forests, farmland, and small gardens belonging to local families. Mornings in Sau Chua often begin with a thin layer of mist drifting gently across the hills, the soft sound of wind through the trees, and the slow rhythm of daily life in a place that still keeps its natural charm.
Sau Chua is home to the H’Mông community, who have lived on this land for generations. Life here is closely connected to agriculture, the seasons, the soil, and the forest. Terraced fields, vegetable gardens, and simple houses reflect a way of living that respects nature and follows the rhythm of the mountains.
Unlike busy tourist destinations, Sau Chua is ideal for those seeking quiet surroundings, fresh air, and a slower travel experience. Here, you can walk along small village paths, watch clouds drift through the valleys, or simply sit quietly, listen to nature, and let your mind rest.
What makes this property unique
I have a small family and a small home. The house we built is a blend of the local H’Mong culture of Sa Pa and a touch of classic European architecture. Some of the materials we use here in Sa Pa are natural stone and wood.
I also deeply love nature and plants, and I hope to live in an environment connected with organic farming and greenery.
Through this small home, I would like to share these values and feelings with you — our future guests.
Thank you for taking the time to read these few words.
