Camellia Guest House Tsubaki no Yado
[Overview]
Located in the heart of Nara, the property features a private garden on a 255-square-meter lot. All four guest rooms are available for exclusive use. You can relax and sleep soundly in a quiet environment on tatami mats with traditional Japanese futons. With traditional features such as tokonoma alcoves, transom windows, lattice ceilings, and sliding doors, you’ll experience life in a charming traditional Japanese house. You can spend your time at your leisure with the entire property to yourself.
The inn is located near both JR and Kintetsu Nara Stations, and Nara Park—home to its famous deer—is within walking distance. World Heritage sites are scattered within walking distance of the inn. Additionally, by train, you can enjoy day trips to Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Ise, and other destinations. We recommend staying for multiple nights and using our inn as a base for your travels—leave your luggage here and explore the surrounding area each day with a light load.
High-speed mesh Wi-Fi is available free of charge and can be used not only inside the building but also in the garden. The bathroom lights automatically turn on and off, adjusting their colour based on the temperature and their brightness based on the time of day—so they won’t turn off even if you don’t move. Check-in is a self-service system using an unlock code.
The spacious bathroom features a shower large enough for two people and a spacious bathtub that can accommodate two, with a view of the traditional Japanese courtyard through the window. Please enjoy the courtyard, which features a handmade stone lantern, a deer scarer, and a suikinkutsu (water stone).
While meals are not provided, you are welcome to use the spacious, well-equipped kitchen, which includes a steam oven, refrigerator, rice cooker, bread maker, toaster, induction cooktop, cooking utensils, and tableware and cutlery for 10 people.
We also provide a front-loading washer-dryer, fabric softener, and detergent. There is a drying area on the terrace, and you can hang laundry to dry in each bedroom.
The area surrounding the inn is lined with numerous restaurants and eateries within walking distance, so you can easily enjoy dining out. You can also order takeaway meals for delivery.

[Access Information]
Although the location shown on the map is accurate, the entrance to the property can be difficult to find, so please allow us to provide directions. Our inn has both a south gate and a north gate, with roads on both the north and south sides, so you can enter from either side. The easiest way to identify the south gate is to look for the white gate marked with a Jizo statue icon on Google Maps, located south of our inn’s location.
Thank you for your cooperation.
