黑鱗閣, 검은 비늘의 집 흑린각은 1924년 목포 원도심에 지어진 일본식 목조가옥(마치야·나가야 양식)을 정성껏 복원한 스테이입니다. 회색 기와와 불에 그을린 적송의 표면이 검은 비늘을 닮았다 하여 이 이름이 붙었습니다. 기존 건축물의 역사성을 존중하면서도 현재의 생활 방식과 자연스럽게 공존하도록 복원했습니다. 천장의 대들보와 서까래는 지난 화재로 그을린 흔적을 지우지 않고 그대로 살려, 이 건물이 지나온 시간을 감추지 않았습니다. 머무는 동안, 100년 전 이 거리를 걷던 사람들의 시간 위에 당신의 하루가 겹쳐집니다.
흑린각은 목포 근대역사문화거리 한복판에 있습니다. 근대역사관 1·2관, 구 호남은행, 옛 화신백화점 등 국가등록문화유산으로 지정된 근대건축물들이 도보 5분 거리에 모여 있고, 노적봉과 유달산 자락도 가깝습니다. 객실에는 도보여행 가이드북을 비치해, 이 거리를 어떻게 걸으면 좋을지 안내해드립니다.
