About this property

Completely restored 1885 Queen Ann style home located next to the temple lot.

Our home is a perfect getaway home for a family or two traveling to see historic church sites, the Truman library, Royals games, Chief games, Worlds of Fun Amusement Park, the zoo, the negro league baseball museum and so much more.
The home has 4 bedrooms.
Two of which are master suites with King Beds.
Two additional rooms come equipped with full beds and one with a bean bag.
The master suites have TVs.
The basement has a big screen TV.
Do you love music? We have a studio you can record a song in. A baby grand piano and an acoustic guitar to strum, a lead guitar and amp to rock and a bass guitar to thump.
The dining room seats 10 and the kitchen
has two stoves.
The house also has a garage with a few extra fishing poles, bikes and scooters that you or the kids may use.
Rooms are not on the main floor so if you want a good night sleep you'll need to be able handle the stairs.

Very nice, clean property. Comfy beds, plenty of room, excellent kitchen facilities, parking for two vehicles (alley is a little challenging).Our group comes to KC every August and this time we decided to explore the Independence area. Close to the Truman Library, which was on our agenda. Fairly easy to get in and out of the City (plaza area and downtown). If you stay here, be sure to try A Little BBQ Joint nearby. Excellent burnt ends.

The house has so much to give. Plenty of room to spread out or congregate. My young adult children loved the music room, the piano, and the record collection. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

What an amazing house! Everything about this place was cool. Our kids loved it. It was just fun exploring the grounds. Very family friendly, plenty of space for everybody, clean and well appointed with tons to do in the house. Absolutely loved it.

Location is great. House is awesome. Appliances were new and plentiful. We could hear beeping from the traffic light outside, but that is expected in a city. Temperature control was great. We loved having a piano. The primary bathroom was amazing.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this home in 2020 and spent the summer there decorating, furnishing and painting. Are friends became best friends with the neighbors who are also now the property managers.
We were drawn to the area due to the past and future significance of the location as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

What makes this property unique

This property was originally located across the street. It was moved via remote control and wheels. It was placed on a new foundation. At one time it was owned by the Community of Christ and was being remodeled for their Patriarch.
The home is on the registry list as an historic home. The staircase is our favorite as you can see from the top to the bottom 4 stories.
