Amazing quietness and views. If you're looking for a place to loss yourself in the wilderness and beauty, this is the place for you. It is rugged and elegant all in one. We loved our too short of a stay!
What a beautiful cabin with an amazing mountain view. It was spotless when we checked in. We arrived a bit early and Gene was there finishing up a project and was so nice. It is so quiet and we spent our time relaxing and hiking on and off the roads. You’ll spend hours on the porch gazing at the mountains, watching humming birds, or saying hi to the occasional cow that grazes by. Perfect.
Need A/C when outside temp is above 85. Portable A/C doesn't cut it. Could only get 7 windows open ??? Awesome views !! Pictures correctly depict property. It was a bad week with temps in the upper 90's. Finally cooled off for 2 days.
Gene was an incredible host and the property was phenomenal. Stunning views, secluded and quiet and so clean! For those needing a getaway, this is the spot! We will be back for sure!
A group of us used the cabin for a business meeting/retreat. Was perfect! All were very comfortable. Cell phone booster was appreciated. Will use again.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin! The listing was on target and probably better than I expected!
Beautiful views, many hummingbirds, and interesting terrain.
Thank you for sharing the Shed Horn.
My family loved this cabin. It was clean and very quiet. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. Beautiful views. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had necessary items needed to cook. Hosts were very accommodating and communicate quickly if you have any questions. They made sure the cabin air was on before we got there and supplied a few fans if we needed them since temps were higher than what we expected. We will definitely be booking this cabin in the future.
Perfect for nice weekend getaway shaving traveled all over using VRBO this is a fav for sure! One of the best stocked places with the most comfortable beds. Considerate hosts, locations is way off the beaten path for certain Super clean and super comfortable
Gene and Aimee were the best host!
Everything was as perfect as we could imagine. Saw wildlife, so quiet and peaceful. Exactly where to go when you need to get away from a busy lifestyle.
It was wonderful. The cabin was a adoreable and had everything we needed, and more. Gene and Aimee were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to ensure we found the property and had what we needed. Loved everything about it.
Our stay was even better than we had hoped for. Quiet, clean and lacking nothing. Gene dropped by for a short visit and filled us in on some local history. Wonderful host. Would return for another visit in warmer weather.
Aimee and Gene have a beautiful little place! We loved being in the middle of the forest, the dogs loved smelling all of the new smells (and saying Hello! to the random cows that wandered by). We had great daily walks on the gravel road up and down the hills.
The cabin had everything we needed. It was very comfortable, and we enjoyed watching all of the hummingbirds on the porch in the mornings.
It would be fun to visit again in the winter.
Highly recommended!!
Gene moved to Wyoming as a young adult, working as a cowboy on ranches and as a guide for outfitters. Aimee moved to Wyoming later in life after having lived on a farm on the east coast and working as a software developer. We met in Chugwater, and married a few years later. Our family grew when Gene's daughters came to live with us in 2015.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property for the beautiful mountain views and wildlife. We saw a lot of potential in the small, one room dry cabin with a loft for our family of 4. Luckily the cabin was spared in the forest fire of 2018!
What makes this property unique
We built the new addition starting in 2017, we brought water into the cabin in 2019. The rocks that line the base of the new addition were hand carried and placed by my husband and his two daughters. My husband designed and built the addition from 2017-2019. In 2020 we added the garage which is now being used to store personal belongings. We have future plans for 2021 to add a full master bath and suite, along with a laundry and mud room.
