This rental was a delight to stay in. The property is fully fenced and private with a secure iron gate closed at night. You couldn’t feel more secure for your selves and your car. The grounds of the property are a magical landscape of Japanese inspired bonsais and other trees and plants. And, the yard art was amazing. The host obviously put a lot of time and effort developing and maintaining the grounds. The hosts were gracious and very attentive without being intrusive. My wife and I very much appreciated their suggestions and sensitivity during our stay, they were very responsive when we had questions. The apartment has everything you need with nothing was lacking. It was cozy and welcoming. The location was perfect for us. We used it as a home base to house hunt in the Charente and Dordogne, it’s a few blocks to the main road running east to west, which will get you to Bordeaux and Bergerac within an hour, we chose north towards Saint-Aulaye. Traffic was very manageable, except the French do drive fast :-) There are plenty of restaurants on that main road in center ville and adjoining communes, as well as a Super U nearby. Two boulangeries within walking distance, one open 7 days a week all day long. Good if you forget, or can’t adjust to French shop and restaurant hours - You won’t go hungry! I’m going to say that in my 30 years of travel using different platforms for rentals, this may be one of the best! I highly recommend La Maison de Didier and Sylvie!!!
