The cabin was just what we needed! We were looking for a nice cozy mountain experience for us to go fishing with our kids and then have a nice place to rest our heads at the end of the day. The hot tub was a definite nice touch! Very relaxing! Our kids had a blast with the bunk beds, and they enjoyed the swing in the backyard.
The stay was absolutely wonderful. House was squeaky clean and the hot tub was crystal clear. Had a great time, wish we could have stayed longer. Got to see all sort of critters in the local area
We had a great stay here. Loved the jacuzzi and the big tree in the back yard! We had shade when it was sunny and protected us from the light rain in the afternoon!
Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone especially parents with kids. The area is beautiful, you are surrounded by trees, the neighbors are pretty close but that did not affect any part of our stay. We would definitely love to use this home again.
The home was well stocked with utensils, dishes and cookware. Hot tub on the back porch was very nice too. Washer needs repair and since we were in mid August to mid September the evaporative cooler cooled very well. However, it was listed as an A/C which is different than evaporative cooling which could be an issue for someone with allergies or asthma.
Everything was exactly as the listing said it would be. There was plenty of space for the kiddos to play and a beautiful neighborhood for long walks. Lots of great hikes nearby kept us busy during day and the hot tub was a welcome relief at night.
In regards to an earlier review, yes, the welcome email comes across a bit aggressive. However, the rules are reasonable. This is clearly a loved home and while it's not very modern, it's got everything needed for a relaxing vacay.

Dark, Dank, Unacceptable
We spent longer talking with the host to get the electronic front door lock opened than we did inside. The place was dark, damp, and smelled musty and smokey. We contacted both the host and Vrbo directly but haven’t heard anything back from either. Caveat Emptor!

Dear Bill, thank you for acknowledging our efforts in helping you accessing the property. As for dark, damp and musty/smokey: you arrived late, a porch light was left on, and it may have been smokey and damp given the properties ambience (hot tub) and the neighbors (buring wood) because cold weather. Its unfortunate you didnt have a positive experience but most of the guest who have stayed out this property have.
My family (me, GMa, and not-quite-2yr-old) needed a break from Tucson. We weren't looking for a place to stay with flashy, modern chromed amenities. Rather, we wanted to stay in something warm and comforting. We found this property and it was like vacationing in a hug. Turned out that we didn't need to hike or sightsee. We hung out in the backyard letting the kid explore, play on the swing set, and jump the pavers. GMa read books in the jacuzzi and in the yard. And I napped like a champion in an incredible bed. The only challenge was the television service, YouTube had been signed out, but it wasn't important enough to our experience to contact the owner or affect the scoring of our stay. To wrap up, this home is like visiting your grandmother's house (if you're in your 40s now); it's soothing and there's a feeling of satiation when you pack up to go home.

A great getaway..LOVE IT!!
Electric kept going out on Chritmas eve it was out from 7 till 3 am
Then the hot water heater went out we didnt get it till the day we checked out
Sheets in the master bdrm had lots of white hair...pillows as well..i just threw them into the closet...but no matter what we had a great Christmas a white Christmas at that!! WE LOVED IT!!
Overall, the house is nice enough; however it is surrounded by close neighbors and not at all secluded. Little things could have been better: no soap or shampoo was supplied, the pillows were wafer-thin and scratchy, and more instructions could have been left about how to work or find items in the home. The "welcome" email came across as an angry list of things not to do ("or a claim will be filed!") and the instructions on how to use the keyless entry were incomplete (they omitted the need for a "#" .) I ended up paying an extraordinary sum for two nights in this home after fees and required insurance. Insult to injury, despite a very high cleaning fee, guests are asked not to leave dirty dishes and to take trash out, or risk having a claim filed. This whole experience made me feel nickled and dimed in exchange for okay, but underwhelming, lodging.
