About this property

On The Rocks-RRG, hot tub, wifi, private pond!

Summary:
Welcome to your private getaway in the RRG! Recently remodeled! You'll find this cabin to be perfectly located for all your adventures. Easy access in any vehicle and parking for all guests. You'll enjoy the private pond, panoramic views, hot tub, double custom slate shower, several decks, and space to spread out. Smart tv, fast high speed internet, propane grill, new linens, and a fully equipped kitchen make for a care free stay! Come disconnect, recharge, and make memories!

Other Things to Note:
As your trip approaches we wanted to make you aware of some good to know info about our cabin as well as some house rules:

1. We have high speed internet!

2. Please do not flush anything but toilet paper we are on a septic and that can clog the system.

3. The hot tub should remain at aprox 105 degrees.

4. Make sure you bring towels for the hot tub! Bath towels are provided but not hot tub towels!

5. You can get firewood on your way to the cabin, there are several places to stop along the way, there is a coffee shop in what I would call a strip mall that has wood outside as well as the liquor store has some. There is also a Beer Barn that has some on the main road, it is on the way to The Rock House. I also think that right as you get off the highway the gas station does too. Sometimes there is left over wood but not always. There is also a house just past the cabin on the right that sometimes has some outside you can buy too.

6. We try to keep salt and pepper and other spices but they sometimes get used up and not replaced.

7. I would bring a blue tooth speaker to use to play music!

8. We know the pool table is a bit tight, we have provided a shorty stick for you to use when needed, please do not move the table.

9. The pond does have quite a bit of fish in it! We are a catch and release ONLY, if you want to fish please bring your own supplies. Our pond is private and for guests only and use it at your own risk.

10. Traditionally Netflix, HBO Max etc work best on the internet/tv's. Amazon Prime is known to use a lot more bandwidth just as a heads up! You will need your own log in's for any internet TV you wish to watch. The TV in the loft also has an antenna so you can get local sports etc.

11. This is our families home away from home, please do not move the furniture, some of the items in the cabin were custom made for us, please be respectful and do not move them or take them. If you have questions about the photography or the custom art please let us know we are happy to share where we got them done.

Beautiful and private, just what we were looking for. Plenty of spaces to entertain. We mostly used the downstairs and hot tub, perfect setting. Even though its by the main entrance to the neighborhood, there was very little traffic and still felt very private. Lovely decor, very comfy beds, and space for kids to not get on each others nerves. Would totally stay here again!

Great little cottage

Great location for hiking

Our family enjoyed the nearby hiking trails all day and then came home to make a fire and soak in the hot tub. Nice quaint property for a family to enjoy.

Fall Break getaway

Our family loved our time at On The Rocks. Plenty of fishing, hiking nearby trails, hot tub at night, and rocking on the porch. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us to spread out. We also enjoyed winning against our teenager at pool and Mario!

Kentucky Getaway - Red River Gorge

We had a great time at Laura's place. It was close and convenient to all of the fun things to do in the Red River Gorge area. We were able to do a number of great hikes, Gorge Underground and hit some good restaurants all within the time we were here. Having the pond close by for some morning and evening fishing was a great bonus!

Great place to stay while exploring Red River Gorge. Steep stairs from lower level. All rooms were comfortable. Enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Make sure to get exact location from the owner before arriving. Was very responsive tour questions

Quality Time

Our stay here was wonderful. The check-in message on the morning of our stay was the best I've recieved from any VRBO property. I love that each sleeping area was on its own floor. Don't seriously expect to play pool. The location of the table makes it very hard to play because the walls are too close. The firepit area was beautiful and the hot tub was relaxing and convenient. There are a lot of steep stairs inside the property bit it was worth it.

What a perfect location for our two families to bring the cousins (15,14,12,10) together in neutral territory. We all had a good time. The cabin and property are just the right to keep everyone busy and yet allowed for personal space as well. There are also many trails and activities nearby. A huge thank you to the owner for such quick replies and for allowing our families to make more memories at your beautiful home away.

Weekend stay

It was a nice cabin with a fire pit, hot tub and pond. However, not all burners worked on the stove, the pool table felt needs replaced and a small animal (something like a chipmunk or squirrel) got into the upstairs wall and made noises all night long keeping our kids up.

Wonderful!

Pulling up to this home had all of us saying “wow” as we saw it for the first time! It was just like the pictures. Such a beautiful home, close to many activities/hiking, so peaceful and quiet. We all enjoyed the hot tub, and my kids are all asking when we can go back! Laura was excellent to communicate with and always had quick responses to any questions we had both before and during our stay.

Very nice cabin and host

Cabin was very nice, and as described. In perfect shape. Nice outdoor areas (deck, covered porch, campfire). Hot tub was perfect temp and ready to go when we got there. Kitchen was small but workable (no D/W, though). Very convenient location to Natural Bridge State Park, and close (20-minute drive) to Red River Gorge Area trailheads.Host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. A couple of heads-ups:- The stairs from the lower to main level are steep and narrow. Doable, it a bit challenging for this 60 year-old. - Put the earliest riser in your group in the lower level bedroom. The main floor has a few creaky spots (no big deal, just a bit loud first thing in the morning).- The listing said that the cabin is a 3 min walk to Natural Bridge State Park, but apparently that’s just to the park border. Access to the trailheads is a quick 5 minute drive. I would definitely recommend this place.

Why they chose this property

This is our families home away from home. We love the outdoors but as we started a family we tent camping became less and less easy. We have gone to the Gorge a lot and when the opportunity came to purchase this cabin we jumped on it. We love the features it has, plenty of space for a large-ish group and it's a place where we are excited to make memories with our family.

What makes this property unique

Close to Natural Bridge and located in an easily found neighborhood. Not located within the neighborhood so the privacy in the evenings is remarkable being so close to restaurants and local locations.
