Cosy and old house on the outskirts of a small town (about 40 inhabitants), nestled between beautiful mountain slopes. The typical Umbrian house was built about 250 years ago, has thick stone walls and an old fireplace, as you previously used it for smoking sausages etc. This winter, the house was almost completely restored: new gas central heating, new bathrooms and all new kitchen, with the atmosphere of the original farmhouse has been completely preserved. Floor: large living / dining room with satellite-TV, stereo and DVD, double sofa bed, fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge / freezer, gas cooker, electric grill, coffee maker, and a fireplace room with old fireplace, partially covered patio and fenced yard. A wooden staircase leads to the first floor (on the mezzanine floor WC) ,: Studio and 2 bedrooms, one with access to the large bathroom and the other with exit to the second large terrace (with stairs to the garden). In the garden there is a utility room with washing machine and sink with hot water supply.
Excursions: Day trips are by car easily to Perugia (medieval center of Umbria, known for its historical center with many churches, squares and monuments of famous artists, such as museums and art galleries), Assisi (worth seeing is, inter alia, perhaps the most famous Italian Church S. Francesco with the famous series of paintings by Giotto), Spoleto with the famous music festival ("dei due mondi"), Vallodinera (outside of Umbria still little known, but a secret, as regards the townscape completely preserved and restored), Gran Sasso (highest mountain range in Italy ), the area of the Etruscans to Tarquinia, Tuscania, Viterbo and the medieval quarters and the "Palazzo Papale" (place of papal elections in the Middle Ages) and also to Rome possible.
Culinary specialties and celebrations: Less than 1 km from the house up the hill towards Monte Polino is the Ristorante Country House Sette Archi, where there are delicious pizza and antipasti and good local wines. Very good pizza is also available in Arrone (2.5 km) in the "Al Portonaccio" while in Macenano the "Tre Archi" (not just pizza, and pasta and meat dishes and desserts) is recommended. The specialty of the area is the black truffle, which can combine with almost anything: pizza, fried cheese, frittata (omelette), but also trout or lamb with truffles are a delicacy.
During the summer months will find many village festivals held in the area, almost in each of the medieval towns are so characteristic removals, food specialties and folklore performances to enjoy and admire.
Sports: In addition to a number of beautiful outdoor swimming pools, there are swimming and water sports lakes (Lago di Piediluco and Lago Trasimeno), white water rafting on the river Nera and sport fishing in the Nera. Walks with no finishes are available in the mountains and valleys of the environment, while there is an amusement park for children in the same place Rosciano.
