This property is Extremely Beautiful and so very very well maintained and clean. Our host and hostess greeted us with a bottle of wine and a berry tort, delicious. The surrounding area is so very peaceful and beautiful. We were there for 1 week and totally enjoyed our selves. The home itself is very well equipped with whatever one would need. I could tell that attention to detail was the owners goal. Very lovely people and very lovely home.

A warm thanks to Valerie, Melanie and Robert for the nice words regarding our property!
We arrived in Macerino after our drive from Rome to be greeted by our hosts Maria and Franco in the square of the village. They warmly welcomed us and showed us to the property which was around the corner from the square. We immediately recognised it from the photos. They escorted us inside to reveal a welcoming bottle of Montefalco wine and a delicious looking blueberry tart. The property was everything we could ask for. Immaculately clean, very well furnished and very spacious. Everything we could need was provided, especially in the kitchen which pleased my wife who enjoys cooking.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a splendid property in an ideal, peaceful country location. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed exploring the locality and our visits to well known places in Umbria.

Looked for a location in Umbria that would allow us to explore communities within the region such as Assisi, Cortona, Spello, Narni, etc. and also to relax and enjoy the countryside. Also wanted a space with "character". This property provided everything. In addition Maria and Franco were very helpful in setteling us in and feeling comfortable. An added bonus is an excellent restaurant almost right next door.
In exploring the area we used both the local country roads which are very picturesque as well as the E45. The final approach to the property ( about 20 minutes) is a country dirt road which might at first be off putting but is no big deal. We generally approached the property from Aquasparta heading to Portaria then on to Macherino. About a half hour drive.
Highly recommended property and hope to return.

Best wishes to Sharon and Richard and thank you so much for the wonderful review, you were very welcome guests.

Authentic Italian holiday apartment in remote hilltop village
We stayed here as 2 couples with babies. The apartment is well equipped and laid out, and 2 cots and high chairs were provided for us. The freshly baked tart and bottle of wine on our arrival was much appreciated! Maria and her husband were always contactable and very welcoming and helpful.
The village was small and quiet, perfect to get away from it all. It has a public pool 10 minutes walk from the apartment, which we could pay for entry by the day or at a weekly discount price. The village was remote, ending in 5km of gravel track, but this was easily done in our hire car. It was only a 20 minute drive to a large supermarket. In the village, there were 2 excellent local restaurants, which we very much enjoyed eating at more than once - perfect local Italian food!
We also enjoyed a day trip to Rome, easily done by driving to the nearby station in Spoleto.
We thank Maria and Franco very much for a wonderful holiday, a perfect example of Italian life!
